Today I read an article in a dutch paper about some new research in this area. The UMC, a university medical centre here in Holland, did mri-scans and the results showed that up to 6 pills there was no measurable damage. Off course there could be things an mri-scan doesn't detect, but as far as this type of scan can tell there is no brain damage.

The research continues to say that most of the brain damage results from frequent use of other drugs like amphetamine that are often found in illegal XTC.

you said it yourself up to 6 pills.

many ravers and many drug abusers take way more than 6 pills in their life time, or even in one night.

its definitely likely that if you use MDMA in moderation like any other substance, the side effects will be negligible. only with abuse and over-doing it comes toxic effects.

sadly the article doesn't state whether the 6 pills maximum is for a single night or for a life time. But from the way it was put I would guess that they mean per night. And off course assuming that you don't have those kinds of nights very often.

The point was that some research from a while ago seemed to suggest that a single pill would already cause brain damage. Papers and governments worldwide jumped on this and gave MDMA a bad name. But there were flaws in the research if I remember it right. Anyway, this new research sheds some new light on a topic that suffers from negative propaganda.
