Absinth for $15
    #6190899 -

Bought a bottle this week in a supermarket in Luxembourg. Dunno if (how much) thujone it contains, but it tastes like you're eating a bunch of hypholomas and it has 50% alcohol :sun:

I'm going to...just over a couple of months, I suppose

Poured a shot-glass for my brother in law, he couldn't really see why he should've gotten that green stuff instead of his bottle of Glenfiddich. Oh well...

Most likely. Bought it mostly for the heck of it. It's not even a very nice bottle. Guess I'm lucky it's even green and bitter tasting.

Definitely not that, but I doubt there's a lot of wormwood in it.

Absinthe, as it was known decades ago, can only be found in the Czech republic. The stuff from france and switzerland are good if your into that bitter, anisse, licorice taste but they contain one
50th of the thujone found in Czech absinthe. That's the only stuff that's going to give you any effects from the wormwood. Anything else is just going to get you hammered before the green fairy ever
comes around.
Unfortunately, it starts at $180 a fifth.

On storing pedro tea...

Brewmaster: Well, the mescaline will still be in there, but I'd be afraid of it conjealing and trying to escape after it grew in size from eating all the other shit in my fridge, and possibly my dogs if it got out.

Pithlit: sentient drugs, now that is an idea ...

OneMoreRobot: Idea? It's a fuckin' reality. You know Salvia? Nigga stole my TV.

I recently watched a program where NY chef Anthony Bourdain went to France in search of absinthe. He, after his research concluded the same things as stated by Brewmaster. He said that the concentration of thujone in the modern stuff is almost non-existent. He did manage to contact a collector of vintage liquors while there and was also able to find this out. The mysterious "Fairy leaving the Bottle" is derived from this...... The bottle is put into a device so that it is hanging upside down and screwed into a tap. Under the tap is a small platform with a screen on it. You put a sugar cube on the screen just under the tap and open it just enough to drip. Meanwhile your glass is under the screen. As it drips,.. the liquor hits the sugar and drips through the screen into the glass below. As this is happening the liquor changes color from green to a yellowish clear and it is sweetened up and is not as bitter this way. The chemical reactions between the high levels of thujone and the sugar make it a much more powerful hallucinogen than if it was just drank straight from the bottle,.. and the dissapearance of the green color in the liquid is suppose to be the aspect of the "Fairy leaving the Bottle."
I hope this was informative, and wish I could get my hands on a bottle of the old stuff myself. - Raj -

I bought two bottles when I was in the caribbean last year. Me and a friend polished off one and a half so far. I can't even drink the shit anymore, it's so aweful. Note: Don't pour it into a plastic glass it will eat right through it. I destroyed about 4 clear plastic glasses from the absinthe, I can just imagine how much my stomache likes it.
