1 out of 6 jars worked..why?

hey evryone, so far one of he jars are almost half cultivated. but the other 5 show no signs of pinning... there dosent seem to be any contam...cause it looks just how it did when we inoculated.. i was just wondering weather or not these were just late bloomers..considering one of the jars is already half white...thanx!

Could be lots of things:

1) substrate wasn't mixed evenly across the jars
2) moisture content wasn't even across the jars
3) incubation temperature isn't even across the jars
4) initial spore load was different across the jars
5) air exchange is different across the jars

etc...


I am a bit confused by your question. I am reading it as follows:

well this is the exact setup... i have all 6 jars in th double tupperwear tekk. the temp is fine in all areas within the chamber ( i hve it regulated) as far s moisture goes what i did to seal all the jars was lid, filter disk, ring... the only thing i am conserned about was..the jar that did colonize ... thats the only jar i mixed the substrate diffrently..instead of adding water to the verm, the mixing in the rice flour, i just mixed it in all together at once.. also it was the only jar i innoculated directly from a center hole rather then the 4holes criss cross. maybe this is the reason? thanks for the input!

im working with3 strains... maybe some take longer then others..
