I said no. That could get annoying fast. I would have to have my speakers off most of the time.

Imagine this tune looping over and over in a thread about suicide.

I'm for it, provided that only the threadstarter can add a tune, and that only if the user deactivates a default disabled filter. You don't want people getting in CPU gridlock every time they open a thread.

If only the threadstarter can do it, and people can choose to never hear this, I'm all for it.

Hmm it might be useful sitewide functionality, if its safed against use for thread vandalism and prevents automatic download of multi-megabyte files, which kills if your computer already is tied up in an involved project, or if you're on dialup.

Oh man no. Music on geocities webpages is obnoxious enough, let alone being ambushed every time I hit a new thread. I bounce from thread to thread so much I'd never get more than a couple minutes through anything anyways.

Additionally, since you reference its accompaniment to long posts, it'd be punishing the already underprivileged that are browsing on dial-up.
