They are colonizing quite slowly IMO...thats why I asked what his temps were.

Except for two days(approx. the 23rd & 24th) when my cord malfunctioned, the temp has been 82-86. The temp of the room they are in has never dropped below 78, but they are kept in a TiT incubator with a heat pad betwixt the tubs. They were knocked up with 11cc's for the twelve jars.

I have read all the tek info several times over and have no idea what I'm missing. Maybe the 50/50 quinoa/brf makes for slower colonization?? Dry substrate was a concern, but again I added exactly the amount given in the updated pf formula??

But as the mycelial patches grow there appears to be condensation in the areas in the bright white patches along with a light yellowing in those areas(myc piss?).

Any additional trouble shooting is appreciated.

Well, hurricane Katrina knocked out my power for a few days...but it came back on a little while ago. No damage to my home, cars, or family. We did have close friends in Mississippi who weren't so lucky as us... :frown:

Anyway, I have some updated colonization pics. My h/poo hasn't arrived yet, it's been about a week since I ordered it. Maybe the hurricane slowed the shipping process????

Hah, watching these jars colonize...this is the slowest orgasm I've ever reached.

And just to let you know Bamaman, I have most definitely been following the progress. Until fruition I won't have much to put forth, though.

hey guys, ive decided to give this trail a go ahead and im having some interesting results. i skipped a step. i took 2 fully colonized cakes and mixed with with about 50% the same weight of casing. the casing was 50/50 verm/coir. put it in a tupperware and sterilized. took a handful of melatonin pill (20?-25?) and crushed them, and mixed them in the casing. its been growing for some days now and i tell you, it looks so good. the Mecylin is a very bright white and looks so beautiful. it seems to be doing relay good.

Considering the propensity for the psilocybin pathway to 4-methoxylate tryptamine compounds... for instance 5meo-dipt or 5meo-dmt become 4-hydroxy-5-meo-dipt and 4-hydroxy-5-meo-dmt. Greatly enhances the potency and longevity of these substances.
I hazard to guess that you may obtain 4-hydroxy-5-methoxy-n-acetyl tryptamine. What will the effects of that compound be?
I personally have tried adding both 5-htp and melotonin to my substrates and noticed only a slight increase in potency and that may be purely a subjective observation. One friend does find the results to give a clearer state of mind and continues to use it. I personally find amaranth flour to be the ticket... lots of tryptamine precursors plus lots of minerals and enzymes. I also use a bit of millet flour with my BRF.
