i just tried the lemon juice thing

ok so read a few post about this using lemon juice to up the effects of mushrooms. 

here is my take. i grew some amazonian a little while back using BRF cased with 50/50+ . to test out what i was working with i ate 2 grams to see what would happen.i felt them , but not very much. to let you know i always powder my shroom and slam them with high pulp orange juice to hide the texture. a week latter i ate 7 grams, and tripped face. after myself, and a few friends tripped there was only 2 grams left over. i stashed them for latter use.  today i powdered them, and soaked them in about 4 oz of fresh lemon juice for 12 min. then slammed. sorry to say that i do not feel any different then when i ate my test dose.
now i know somewhere some is keeping tract of this kind of thing so this was my 2 cents worth ( if that much)

Yeah I think its more placebo, but it may have a slight influence to the high I think, but its not so apparent in all situations,

I sometimes think my visuals are more acidic like, which makes some sense, sense lemons, are acidic,

regardless I like the lemon juice method, because it completely covers up the taste and makes the shrooms easier to digest,

maybe its in the digestive process that lemons can invoke an onslaught of a come up, due to acidic properties breaking down the shroom, but the only way you could feel any difference, would be able to slam that shot on an emptier stomach and compare that digesting shrooms differently on an empty stomach,

because having a full stomach, and having to go the through the same digestive process anyways would neutralize any noticeable difference I think

I think people use lemons because citric acid aids in absorption of the active elements in the mushrooms, but don't quote me on that.

If this is the case, then orange juice is going to do the same thing as the lemon juice, because they are obviously both citric fruits.

Ergo, if you usually eat a lot of shrooms with a citric juice to trip, then a small amount of shrooms with a citric juice isn't going to make you trip harder because you're still used to the large amounts of the drug.

Of course that could be completely wrong, but that's how it looks on this end.

I understood you up until you mentioned only feeling it on an empty stomache... The digestive process is the digestive process, I don't see why it would really matter how long your stomache's been digesting food... Keep in mind though, the stomache only breaks down food, the actual absorption only really starts in the duodenum. My guess would be if there is any validity to this then it would be some sort of enzyme in the lemon allowing for the absorption to occur faster. (This would also account for the shortening of the trip that I remember people noting)

A full stomach definitly slows down the initial come on of the shrooms, this is partly due to them not being quickly digested an absorbed through the blood stream,

Just take 3 grams on a empty stomach, or better yet on an empty stomach and sit in a sauna and sweat additional body water out

and compared it to taking 3 grams on a full stomach, such as eatting a steak, you'll definitly notice a difference of the onslaught of the shroom,

a full stomach tends to make the come on slower and less intense, but it lasts overall a little longer

where on an empty stomach, there is nothing else to buffer the digestion, the drug instantly gets absorbed into blood stream, and the come on can be quite more intense, and the peak might be at a higher level

Thats a matter of pref and how strong of a trip you want. I've found that I've really enjoyed low-dose trips the past while (2g or less) and have gotten more out of them then my high dose trips.

am I 'fucked up tripping mad bawls' and 'seeing crazy shit?' not really, but thats not the point.

I realize this, I always shroom on an empty stomache, but that doesn't explain why the lemon juice would only work on an empty stomache like you were suggesting

i tried the lemon method 3 times and I can honestly say it did nothing good (nor bad) for my trip.

You were pretty much right, the citric acid in lemon juice or orange juice helps the chemical process dephosphorylation to turn the mush into psilocin. Not really aiding in digestion more of just aiding a quicker onset time of your trip. I assume lemon juice has a higher Ph than OJ because it is way more sour, making it a better candidate for using citric acid to quicken the oh so anxious waiting time.

I dunno but to be honest I think the lemon juice thing would work better on an empty stomache. I always make sure to not have eaten or drank anything too recently when doing it, and after taking the shot I make sure not to consume anything.

The way I see it, its the mixing of the shrooms with the lemon juice which amplifies the trip. Therefore, if theres a whole load of other stuff in your stomache it's all gonna be getting mixed up in there. The result, I imagine, would be a mixture of food and all the other stuff you drank, as well as some shrooms particles spread around evenly and some lemon juice which is not really lemon juice anymore seeing as its been thoroughly mixed with the contents of your stomache.

On the other hand, if your stomache is relatively empty (or completely empty, for that matter) you're gonna have a little pool of powdered shrooms + lemon juice resting at the bottom of your stomache. This might be way off, but to me it makes sense like that.

Its like drinking alot of alcohol on an empty stomache. It's gonna kick in quicker and harder probably because theres nothing else diluting the mixture in your stomache...

allow me to ring in on the empty stomach issue.
stickywater is right to a point. digestion is digestion wither or not you already have something in your stomach or not. he also said that absorption starts in the duodenum ( for those who dont know that is where the stomach first empties into the small intestine) again correct to a point.
the stomach will digest whatever food stuff you put into it, BUT it can only empty that stuff into the duodenum at a certain rate. only a certain amount at a time. on an empty stomach you can enter the intestines much quicker, because the shrooms dont have to wait in line to get absorbed.
also just an FYI for stickywater. it is true that for the most part the stomachs job is to mix and brake down food not absorb it, but the stomach will in fact absorb a few items into the blood stream. for example aspirin, and alcohol can both be absorbed by the stomach. there a few other things, but i dont have the list on me. with that said i want to say that on a few occasions i have crushed a pill in a shot glass, and filled it with some kind of 80 proof alcohol, and let me tell you when the drug gets mixed with the alcohol it also gets absorbed by the stomach with the alcohol, and it fucking hits hella ass. when i read the lemon juice tek thats kinda of what i figured would happen, but it did not.
just to let everyone know i did eat dinner before the shrooms, but it was like an hour before.
as for the fact that i already use OJ which is an acidic liquid goes. i never let the shrooms soak in the OJ, because i dont want to taste the shrooms in the oj. as soon as i put the shrooms in the OJ i slam as soon as possible. with the lemon juice i let it soak for 12 mins.

also with lemon juice you can get the effects of dosing on an empty stomach even after just eating. solids in the stomach get put on hold until all the liquid drains from the stomach, and then it begins releasing solids into the duodenum again. so even if u were to eat a huge meal, then chug this, it would get their first and already digested by the acidic solution. this method seems to increase the amount of potency by digesting most of it in the lemon solution, leaving your stomach acids and whatever lemon solution u swallow to finish up whatevers rest in the short time it will reside in your gut. It's also slightly easier for your body to absorb the alkaloids via liquid.

I dont know why u didnt feel much of a difference, but I have yet to try this myself.

I think the method here is actually a combination of the following. Taking vitamin C, and/or drinking alot of orange juice prior to dosing the shrooms.

Not only using lemon juice, but also adding LIME JUICE is a BIG benifactor in this "Lemon Method." I feel it is rather a combination of the enzymes in Lemons and Limes that provide the full "Lemon Method" experience. I feel there is alot of discovery to be done under the combination of different elements along with shrooms, that could possibly provide us with profound insight.

Ive recently experimented with lemon juice a few times. One was just a straight shot, the next time I added some watermelon/strawberry juice which was very nice- had a good fungusy kick to it. both times i pretty much powdered em. So Im not sure if its in the powdering or ensyme reactions that makes me start to shroom faster. Oh yeah im 6' and weigh 180, and I dont need to consume an eighth dry to enjoy a mushroom trip. smaller doses are more mellow, and inquisitive, larger doses are just mind benders. In the future, is psilocybin mushrooms are going to be accepted for their medical value, doses will probably be well sub psycotropic. shroom asprin, clusterbusters. What about mixing em with high proof alcohol for a while, wouldnt the psilo leach into the alcohol and thus enter your blood very fast. I have tried th is and it works quite well. Faster come on, more intense, shorther duration, and more immediate comedown
