Need advice from those experienced with Ayahuasca

I need some input from anyone who has experience with ayahuasca. My main concern is anxiety, since I understand it to be a very intense experience. I have taken acid maybe ten times with no major complications, though it has been years since. In the past year I took mushrooms many times, the first being somewhat hectic. I planned on staying in my bedroom (bad idea) while my mom was at home. As soon as the 3g of prime cubes kicked in I freaked out and felt like a caged rat. The mind fuck got to me and I had to leave, resulting in me immediately confessing to her that I had taken shrooms. That set a bad tone for the rest of the trip, although I still do not regret it. I just remember how awkward and bad it felt in the moment.
I have moved on from shrooms for the time being, and I suddenly find myself interested in ayahuasca. My main motivation for this is to gain religious insight and greater awareness of all of this. I would really like to take a trip to Peru and do this with the help of a trained medicine man, but I estimate that will cost me at least $2000, probably more. While I would not put a price on such a life experience, right now I just don't think I want to throw around that kind of cash.
I don't think I would do so well with a trip sitter, since I have nobody in my life close enough to not make me feel weirded out as they see what I go through. I find I enjoy my trips much more when I am alone. To conclude this, I need to know some of the specifics on using aya as far as anxiety, level of incapacitation, etc..

generally you'd have a question if you wanted advice.... you can get ayahuasca ingredients from various online dealers. rue/caapi and mimosa hostils are fairly easy to get. if that was what you needed help with??
and as for your first mushroom trip...why would you go tell your mom? if you feel trapped somewhere, go outside, go for a walk, whatever...why tell your mom? it's not like your doors are all locked with deadbolts on the inside and out.

Ayahuasca is probably just about the least predictable thing you can take in terms of how intense it will be.
Also, you may be at a + one minute, and rise to a super intense +++ the next minute. Yep, sharp peaks and valleys!!
Don't fuck around with this one around your parents.

havent tried it, but dont trip when you still live with parents.
if you have to, do it at someone elses house whose parents arent home, or do it outside

No need to go to Peru. There's nothing a medicine man can teach you that the plant can't.

Thats some good info, every part of what he said is very true. You also have to find your own dose when it comes to this stuff. I have only used it alone, one time it was such a high dose, and I had a death/rebirth experience(it changed me forever). What happened on that day was scaryand lasted a very long time, and in a way i felt guilty because I though I had defied god but somehow also felt good about having done so. The thing is, I never wanted to be that close to what is commonly refered to as "god". As if I broke the rules of being a living and breathing human being. It was so magical that I dont feel like I could possibly take the time to explain it all, and some of the explanation would be pretty hard for alot of people to believe.
If you experience anxiety/high heart rate, going for a long walk helps alot(thats what I felt I HAD to do).
It is indeed a trip like none other even at a low dose. It is a medicine and cured me in many ways, in some ways physically. If heavy visuals can scare you, then ayahuasca just may make you pee your pants(kidding). It takes a nice thick dose to do that.
As far as parents. That would be a big fat no in the ayahuasca department. I would suggest a forest preserve and a cell phone(if you can still work/find your cell phone you should feel secure, there are other, better ways to deal with it unless you are having some VERY serious physical trouble(uncommon)). Have a few friends know what your doing to yourself that day(them knowing where you are etc, and call them if you need to. Anywhere in the city or even a quiet neighborhood is no place for an ayahuasca user if youre outside. For me its either a silent dimly lit room, or the forest. You might come out of it with a serious relationship with nature if you go to the forest. Thats my favorite place. Just keep walking if you get upset or anxiety stricken, and dont get lost. Most of all never allow yourself to panic even if you do feel the need to call somebody.
So ya, start with a lower dose.

I am a bit confused here. You guys describe it as being awesomely powerful, yet you take it while wandering around the woods? If the effects are really that strong wouldn't I find myself laying on the ground as soon as things get intense? There is a very good park in my state which I have been to once before while using mushrooms. I wouldn't mind going back if it is really possible to maintain some level of composure.
As an added note, I had no intention of trying aya with my parents home. In the past when I tried shrooms they were not nearly as powerful as the ones I had grown which led to the trip I was not exactly ready for.
Another quick thing I wanted to note. I find that shrooms simply cause me some anxiety when I take them. This anxiety is not because of the fact that I am tripping, since stronger effects from lsd result in very little anxiety. I guess I will just have to start with a low aya dose and see what happens.
Thanks for the help.

Wandering in the woods without knowing the place is not a good idea.
"Laying on the ground"-----------> If you dont need to keep walking you might find yourself sitting on a log for a long period of time.
life cycles work well with paths and foliage. No sense to it in a way, it just works in a very interesting way in the middle of some forest.
If you have a place to just chill indoors I would recommend that as well. No problems, just an ideal temperature and silence is always great for this type of trip.
Mushrooms are alot like ayahuasca, but ayahuasca has a bit of kick to it in many MANY ways. The only drugs I could compare to ayahuasca is a high dose of mushrooms mixed with a small amount of lsd. (harmaline acts like lsd at an maoi type dose, and can be very strong at hallucinogenic doses)......
Depends on the brew. How much dmt, and how much maois. The original ayahuasca is thought to have been an maoi by its self(no dmt).
Rue and caapi can really twist your mind when you take enough of either. SOme would say the caapi(or maoi) is the spirit of ayahuasca. The dmt is coupled with it to add power and color to the experience.
I for one think the DMT is very important. Traditional brews have such potent doses of maois that almost any dose of DMT would change the experience greatly.
There is no one best way to make ayahuasca. SOme would make it from lots of pure vine(thats all).
A starting brew would be 3 grams of rue or the equivalent of caapi, and 9 grams of viridis. When the doses get to be more traditional for you(and all that comes with that kind of a high dose of anything). Its 5-7 grams or rue and 24 grams viridis.
Thats WAY too much for most people. If your leaf is high quality, thats an insane dose. If you ever do take that much, good luck to you. (rue almost never short hands you, but viridis can vary in quality greatly). Thats why I say, start low.
With ayahuasca, you are hardly taking ayahuasca if you dont use 3 grams of rue at the very least. I prefer rue, FAR less plant material, and if you can avoid the purge, good luck with the elongated experience ahead of you.

Didn't want to make a new topic.
Is the puking/shitting going on throughout the entire trip? If you go to do it in a park, where do you puke and shit?
Also, what exactly is the Ayahuasca experience like? I hear its laid back, relaxing, and spiritual... then I hear it is insane.

Probably the most intense spiritual experience out there. Except maybe the 5min hyperspace blast.Aya allows more time for integration.
So much information already written on it.But words WILL always fail, remember that.Be careful of those MAOI's.
A search will bring you loads of info.In so many places.
Peace
