PR and Equador Casing Picture. Is this right??

I asked for some casing help 2 weeks ago HERE . I recieved a lot of help, and now I'm anxiously watching my casing after the failure I had last time. What are your feelings on the way these look? I know I can't let the Puerto Ricans colonize the whole surface, so do I scratch it? What do I do next? Humiditiy is very high, they have humidification/fresh air 6 times a day for 5-10 minutes each time. Lights are 12/12. Today is day 10. What do I need to do next? Thanks for the help.

scratch with a nail or some sort...but not too deep....like drawing a graph (#)....lower temps....you should have pins within the next few days....oh...and be sterile... :wink:

Im a newbie myself, but Ive probably posted 200 threads on casings trying to get it perfect. From what I can tell, there might be slightly overlayd action on the Peurto.R's...looks as though you have some good knoting action on that casing though..kinda blurry so I might be wrong....lower temps though is the key for pinning, you gotta trick them by making them think: "Its so fuckin cold all a sudden!Our existance is doomed! and if we dont spread our seed soon we will become exticnt!" ...I just leave mine at room temp (70degrees).

Puerto rican overly regulary on gra?ns. Point.
What you should do: Nothing. Keep the humidity high, fan regulary and provide some light. And wait. You should get pins in no time.

hey anno. From that pics it looks like the PR's are going to overlay.
but you dont think so.

you said to keep light on them constantly, does that slow the mycelium growth.
Also, are pr's one of the more potent strains in the cubey family. I have read about a lot of people having problems with them.

I ask because of the post joshua had about PR's in the pics forum I believe it was.

Alright, well I'm feeling slightly more confident about it this time around. I'm dropping the temprature by about 10 degrees all day today and we will see if that helps. Scratch or no scratch? Won't that impair pinning? When you refer to knotting, are those dense mycelial clumps? Thanks for your help guys!

Everything is fruiting just fine now, the puerto ricans, equadors and PESA. I have no worries now. The density of the fruiting looks a little low compared to most pictures I've seen. What do you reccomend I do about that? Moisten the casing layer?

i know people say it isnt necessary with cubies... but afoaf always cold shocks for 24 hours in the fridge when the casing gets to the amount of growth he wants... they always pin about 5 days after this... it might not be necessary but afoaf never gets massive overlay
