stones (aka philosopher's stone or truffels) are sclerotia. a sclerotia is a thick hardened chunk of mycelium. certain species produce them - psilocybe mexicana and psilocybe tampanesis being examples (mexicana "a" is the strain he used in that thread, it works very well for the purpose)
its sort of an in vitro thing, they form right in your jars, and you harvest and eat them instead of fruitbodies. not as potent as cube fruits but they yield pretty well and its super simple to do. it does however take several months... so its something to do when you're bored one day, forget about it for a while, and come back to a nice little treat waiting for you months later. search around theres lots of info and a tek on the site faq.

I'll go ahead and leave this unlocked, as there could be some good discussion here. In the future, please do a search before posting questions. Thank you.

yah, and I was reading what was in the link. "Sclerotia is roughly 70% water by weight while mushrooms are around 90% water. Dry sclerotia is 2/3 as potent as dry cubensis fruits, while fresh sclerotia is twice as potent as fresh cubensis. This is due to the fact that sclerotia contain 3 times more dry matter per quantity of fresh material."
crazy.
