sterilized jars on a shelf...

After I boil my jars will they still be ok to innoculate after being left on my shelf for 2-3 days? Or is it imporant to innoculate as soon as they cool down, like the next day?

forgot to add this- After I do innoculate (im using a print) does shaking the jar help things along? I ahve heard it is good to spread the spores around and quicken the colonization, but also heard somewhere that it increases contams, altough I don't see how. To shake or not to shake?

If they are serilized properly, they keep a long time. If not, then you?ll smell or see it.

this guyt used brf and verm a 1:3 ratio like in the grow guide on the shroomery.

Then you should inoculate it with a syringe like the tek says to. brf substrate can?t be shaken easily and shouldn?t be shaken if you inoculate it with a syringe.

for how long do you recomend boiling the jars and does it matter how long you let them sit for?

boil the jars for aboiut an hour, they will be ok for a little while, but innoculate them asap

does it hurt if you boil the same jar of substrate twice? I left mine sitting now for like 3 days so will it hurt to resterilize them?

your fine with your brf jars, if you sterilized them good enough the first time you can let those jars sit for at least 2.5 weeks, no need to do it asap, i always wait 3-4 days to see if any contaims are present. Dont re-strelize your jars either, the water content will get all outta whack, just be patiant.

Sterilize your jars for one hour on the stove top in a pot with the tightest seal you can find. Make sure you have some sort of material to limit the direct heatsource the jars receiver. Check once at 30 minutes to see how the water level is doing and fill it a little with hot water if necessary. It's best to let the jars cool in the pot and you can wait however long you want. Check on them real good before you innoculate because if you see any molds you can blame and fix your sterilization process and not your innoculation process.
