regarding moving sterilized jars
    #441872 - 10/30/01 12:17 PM (23 years, 1 month ago)

I'm interested in starting a mush garden, but one thing that's holding me back is that I don't have a stove in my place, and unless I want to spill for a pressure cooker (which I dont really..), I need one. However, I have access to stoves, so I'm wondering, would it be possible to mix the substrate up at my place, take them to his place, do the stovetop boiling thing and then bring them back to my place without them messing up, or is this just begging for contamination/other problems?

My idea for actually transporting jars back and forth would be a large tupperware container that could be sterilized with usual means.

Thanks for the help,
-CM

"Order some golf shoes," I whispered. "Otherwise, we'll never get out of this place alive. You notice these lizards don't have any trouble moving around in this muck - that's because they have ~claws~ on their feet."

just buy a second-hand pressure coocker on eBay, it will be much much easier and less likely to fuck up.....also it shouldn't be that expencive at all!

Check out your local thrift shop for a $5 used pc. Make sure the seal is in good condition.
