waiting to sterilize jars

I was wondering if I could put the substrate in the jars and then sterilize them a couple days later... Would they dry out or what... Im thinking I should sterilize them right afterwards but I would like to know if waiting would harm the cakes or anything.

They will contaminate badly if you leave them unsterilized for more than 24 hours.

Anno is correct! (but then again, Anno is usually always correct). Sterilize them first. If you don?t, you will be wasting precious substrate.
