The main requirement in my job is versatility. On any given day, I could be doing expense reports, scheduling meetings, organizing lunch reservations, reaching out to a new company, stonewalling a company that we don't want to meet with, looking over PowerPoint presentations, entering numbers into an Excel sheet, and (to be perfectly honest) any of dozens of other jobs. The person who takes this job should be well-skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. They should be well-versed in how to research on the Internet. A good phone manner is also important, as this position comes into contact with the top executives at new media companies.

I managed to work six months in this job, and do a relatively good job at it, without knowing virtually anything about the business side of what my bosses do, or the products they work with. A willingness to learn this industry is extremely helpful, but not vital. What is more important is the ability to prioritize, as you are working for five very energetic people who all are working tremendously hard. Grace under pressure is a requirement for anyone who expects to last for longer than a week.

For my part, I got to the office every morning at around 8:00AM and left at around 6:00PM. I found that this was the way to keep the day at a pace I was happy with. I would expect that this job can be done well in far fewer hours, but it would be at a more hectic pace.

Sounds like a freakin' blast. Wish me loads of luck.

Not even when you have to pay for a place in NYC?  It beats manual labor, anyway

Yeh..
.this job pays 17 an hour.  That's enough for me to pay my rent, buy beer, buy weed, and put a tiny amount aside.
