Job Interview.
    #3104295 - 09/07/04 04:45 PM (19 years, 25 days ago)

I'm not sure if any of you cats remeber, but awhile back I applied for a Managers postition at work, and I got a phone call today for a meeting tomorrow..That's cool, I've done ton's of interviews. But never for one this professional.

any tips, or advice? I'm kind of nervous. But I'm pretty confident that I can do the job.

the interviewer is a lady too. i find it's always easier to talk with the opposite sex in times such as this.

Dress is good as possible. If necessary, buy something new. Most importantly, show that you are very interested in the job, but don't hump the interviewer's leg. Make it look like you are considering the many facets of the new position.

This sounds crazy, but while you are talking, cross your legs. That's my ace in the bag trick.

An interview is one of the few times you can openly brag about youself. Make sure you give them reasons why your the best for the position, Make sure you get the message to them that you want the job.

the nutcrusher, or ankle to knee...which is better. Nutcrusher is more "professional" i guess.

I'm not combfortable with the nutcrusher...If I was to rock it, I'd have to do a 'rearrange' which isn't very professional.

I guess I'll have to dress up for work tomorrow, go to work, undress, and then redress in my uniform which is dressed up, undress, and re-dressup. Damn it's going to be alot of tie tying.

I got a job interview tommorow and I am quite nervous. But not so nervous that you get thos liquid shits, ya'know? My girlfriend brought over all these interview do's and don'ts sheets cause it's 5 years since I had to do an interview.
-Avoid slang
-don't slouch, lean slightly forward indicating interest.
-don't talk yourself out of the job, know what you are applying for so if they ask your expectations they meet the position.
- Dont talk negatively about your old job
-Know your goals in education and work.
-Don't be long winded but also don't use "yes and no" answers. Provide examples.
-SMILE
-Don't ask about salary until it is evident you are getting the position.

I also went over some questions that surprisingly stumped me pretty good, mostly because I have hard time telling somebody great things about me.
"Why should I hire you?"
"Tell me something great about yourself"
"what are you expecting to get from this position?"

That's all I can think of atm.

Okay, Thanks for the advice everybody. I'm sitting here 5:36am, enjoying some cereal, but noticing my place is kind of chilly. brr. The interview is at 10:30am. So I went and bought a new tie last night, I couldn't find a new shirt that fit well, so I'm just going to wear one I've already got.
I've been going over some stuff in my head for those damn questions...i hope you all have a great day, and when I get home I'll pretend you are interested in how it went and post about it....

au voir
