I knew you'd catch on.

This is Binks Professional desiccant:

It turns pink and then clear when it's saturated. Bake it at 400 degrees for an hour and it's indigo blue again and ready to re-use.

Nice stuff.

What is the colour changing agent used in Binks? Cobalt Chloride?

Some of them are really nasty, heavy metals

Geez.. Don't ever put me in the position of having to choose between the two.

I'd have to tear my brain in half. They're both such awesome higs. That's one cocktail I'd never mix as a driver and I'll likely never know as a passenger.

I believe it's likely cobalt chloride. In any case, I always physically segregate the stuff from my consumables. They never touch.

All chemicals (well, most) will degrade with heat, light, moisture and exposure to air.
The colder you store it at the slower its' molecules move, the longer it retains its' natural consistency/potency.
