Grizzly Man
    #5396999 -

Has anyone else seen  this flick?

It's about Timothy Treadwell, who went to live with grizzly bears for 13 summers in a row.

Yeah, he got eaten.

I think it's amazing that he lived as long as he did. It's not like he was trying to hide from the bears at all...he would get RIGHT up close to them - sometimes just a couple feet away - and even yell at them.

I also think he was certifiably insane :smirk:

The only real tragic part was that he brought his girlfriend along for the final trip.

My favorite part? There's two: one is when he gets his hat stolen by a fox and gets really angry because of it, and the other is when he flies off the handle talking about the park rangers.

Yeah that was truly amazing that he lived with them for as long as he did.

"Why hello there Mr. Chocolate!"

Yeah he was a wierdo. It's amazing that he had pet foxes, and the bears left him alone for as long as they did. His girlfriend was a nut for staying with him...

I enjoyed this film. Timothy Leary is completely insane and deserved to be bear food. The bear did not deserve to be killed just for eating a stupid human. I have nothing against hunting and shooting animals for food or sport, but to kill a bear simply because it killed a human is wrong.

But you're right, the bear didn't really deserve to be killed. The guy basically offered himself up as food to the bear. He always knew he would be killed by the bears, eventually.

Worse yet, I think he would be devastated by the fact that the bear who killed him was then shot and killed. He seemed to truly care about the bears.

make sure you watch the dvd. The TV version leftout a lot of good parts, mainly timothy TREADWELL acting like a loon. Dropping the Fbomb all over the place.

I think you're a market promoter paid by the Canadian ministry of tourism.

That guy was fucked.  But Werner's treatment of his life was...respectful and a bit odd.  He's like Mike Myers's "Sprockets" antithesis.

I have a feeling he watched too many movies. He truly believed that meat-eating animals and humans could live together peacefully? Too many Disney movies. He must have expected to get eaten, or he was crazy...

I wanna see it!

Maybe I'll go live with sharks or lions for several years, they love humans.. right?
