Grizzly (wintergreen) Vs. Skoal (Apple)

Well, I made a thread a while ago saying I was going to start "Chewing" (dipping) but wasn't sure what to go for.

Most said Grizzly wintergreen, some mentioned Skoal. (and a mix of others like copenhagen)

Well, I bought a tin of Grizzly Wintergreen and a tin of Skoal Apple.

I'll start by saying... My wife got over the fact that i'd be dipping. Actually.. she even tried it, twice. She enjoyed the Apple. And we both pretty much said the same thing. I'll list them below...

Skoal Apple - Price = 7.50$ a tin. (WOW!!)
Skoal Apple - A bit more dry
Skoal Apple - It doesn't usually go all over your mouth/tongue. (I'm guessing the dryness)
Skoal Apple - It taste like Jolly Ranchers (My wife and I agree'd on this)

G. Wintergreen - Price = 5.25$ a tin (That's more like it.)
G. Wintergreen - Very moist
G. Wintergreen - Tends to get all over your mouth, and you salivate more
G. WIntergreen - Very nice lip burn + Better buzz
G. Wintergreen - Better taste

Over-all I'm like 60/40 on these two. With Grizzly winning. Just because it taste a bit better, and is a bit cheaper. It's half the price of cigarettes. Win.

However, if the Skoal was the same price, I'd probably dip that more often than the Grizzly. I do enjoy the Jolly Rancher effect.

Also, my goal in doing this was to quit cigarettes. I've been up since 6am it's now 11am, I've had one cigarette. (A hell of a lot better than where I was) And I only dipped once. A very small pinch.

I find it easier to stay away from dip, and not get sucked into the allure of it, and it keeps me away from cigarettes for the most part. I'll probably be done with cigs soon, and I'll drop the dip as well.

i had dipped once with spitless tobacco and was told to swallow the pack after a few minutes (which i did)and i felt so sick later i will never do it again

I used to dip very rarely.  My choice was was Skoal but I never really enjoyed it.  :shrug:  So I guess I would go with grizzly.

if you keep at it long enough grizz green will be the only thing you ever want.
every hardcore dipper I've ever met (myself included when I was on it) dips exclusively grizz mint or WG, or Copenhagen Snuff. That's usually the older crowd though.

It's really nice. It does have a great lip burn like you said. I'll stick to it for a while if I don't end up quitting all together.

It's a pain though hunting for bottles. :lol:

When I did chew it was always a flavored Skoal. Avoid the black cherry that shit's just nasty, peach on the other hand is pretty tasty.

Apple isn't bad either though but it gets old IMO.

I was looking into the Vapor King Storm. (It's like a cigar, and has like a 10 hour batter life)

I have the VK E-Tank right now. It's nice, but it gives a really harsh throat hit.

The VK-E-Tank is a piece of garbage.  At least try something legitimate like the Joye Ego-T.  You pay for what you get.  This allows you to get liquid from many different companies too which greatly affects the throat hit.

Yep, quit instantly.

As a matter of fact, I think it's better than smoking cigarettes. I think you get more nicotine but that's pure speculation on my part.

I feel the same. I get a much better buzz. It usually hits me about 3 minutes after dipping, lasts about 15-20 minutes, and then when it's out, I still have about a 2-3 minute buzz following.

I wouldn't dip anything other than Grizzly. It's cheap, and you get the best buzz from it.:thumbup:

Skoal apple, I only ever dabbled with the shit for a few months. After my gums started getting stain'd and inflammed I quit and never packed another.
