So true. The reckoning,as I like to call it, can be extremely disturbing for a while.

I do agree that he did want to start a revolution. It's his motives I am leary of.

LOL, I made a pun.

You also might want to consider the possibility that many of the tragedies surrounding his life might have had something to do with the fact that he was persecuted for much of it.

Good point. But it sounds like his children were really fucked up. Bad.

The fact that his son would not talk to him for nearly 20 years suggests it was something personal.

His daughter killed someone and then herslf. His wife killed herself.Sounds like family problems to me.

But, I don't really know ,now do I?

Sirreal, who are you to decide what people should do with their lives and what should more important? You may think the most important thing is to look after your family but that doesn't make it true.

the article palpably emphasizes the homosexuality of a few of leary's associates, as if being gay is bad. it's fundamentalist intolerance... they're trying to smear leary by exposing his collegues for their 'sinful' sexual orientation. it's absurd.

a rather unmistakable display of fundamentalist closed-mindedness, it calls the religious traditions of the east "occultic". sheesh.

it smears aldous huxley, portraying him as some kind of drug fiend who wasted his life away getting stoned, when he was in fact a rare example of a true intellectual and real genius.

it makes unfounded assumptions about leary's family life.

there is of course the familiar baptist underlying suspicion and disapproval of pleasures of any sort...

.... and it ends with some sorry, snide, baptist preaching.

the article's so slanted my neck hurt when i got done reading it. it was kindof funny though.... but i do feel sorry for such closed-minded, delusional people. they're usually not very happy.

I think Timothy Leary would find that pretty funny.

If that was your father, you would have either commited suicide or you would not have been talking to him.

This post was a reference to his family situation. I do not really know what you would have done had you been his child.

What are you talking about?
There'd be no suicide. And how would you know how I'd react in any situation?
