I'm VERY easily awoken. The slightest noise outside will wake me. It's not a question of getting up, it's just staying up that I have trouble with.

as much as we blame everything else, ,unless it a once in a blue moon problem, ,the simple fact is you don't care

that's definitely my problem.
in my half-sleep state, i know that i'm waking up, but i just don't give enough of a damn to get out of bed. it's a serious problem that i really want to fix. i often go 3 hours just re-setting my alarm for the next 45 minutes, knowing i should be getting up.

i need to find something worth getting up for.

Hm. As much as oversleeping sucks, I've almost died on two occasions after not sleeping for over two hundered hours. (hence 'Sleep Aid')

I'd prefer oversleeping twice to insomnia.

I try to get a healthy 8-10 hours of sleep a night.

My ex girlfriend would get out of bed, walk to the alarm clock and turn it off and later have no memory of it. In attempts to wake her she would just whine at me. This caused so many fights later.

Just try to get enough sleep :frown: I am fighting with that problem too, pushing my clock in 20 minutes steps to get up 40 minutes later, often. Sometimes I wake up before the alarm starts, am terrible tired and can't sleep again (only get little naps, while pushing the time).
I also try to get a good 7-9 hours of sleep per day, which is almost impossible, but if I manage it, it feels quite really good.

And the bosses mentality, you describe, is the same here. It's the old dickhead way of managing. If something runs excellent or good, you will not hear anything from them, they get all the fame and they spare you with their power hammer, but if something goes wrong, the hell breaks loose.
Luckily I compromised mine to the part, where it really matters and she learned, that she can rely on me THEN. Sometimes female bosses can be real bitches !

The trick isn't JUST getting enough sleep, it's getting enough sleep as part of a regular routine. If you once in a while get enough sleep, that's not enough. If you regularly get enough sleep from the same time going to bed to the same time waking up... then you'll see some improvement. Myself, I know this... but I just have motivation problems. When I'm awake I often don't see the point in going to bed. When I'm in bed, I don't see the point in getting up.

I think I might have some psychological issues going on there.

I also don't dream anymore. I don't remember what dreams are like.

It's pretty depressing, and it's taking it's toll on my sanity. The second I fall asleep I'm awake on my bed the next morning... faced with the stress of reality once again.
