Rolling Stones and tripping

I love the Rolling Stones. I mean they're definitely one of the all time greatest rock bands ever. When it comes to psychedelia though, they're music is definitely lacking. When you trip, you need something more out there. The Rolling Stones were just a streight up rock band.
There is one exception to this rule. On 1967 Rolling Stones album "Their Satanic Majesties Request",
they got VERY trippy. The difference between this album, and the rest of the Rolling Stones catalog(which i'll admit I haven't heard it ALL, but...) is like night and day! I mean it. And they had three albums in 1967(the trippiest of all years for music). The albums that came out before this one, "Between the Buttons" and "Flowers" were vintage Stones, and the album that came out after "Their Satanic..." in 1968 was "Beggars Banquet", was back to the same old Stones sound.
Their Satanic Majesties Request is a great album. The songs were psychedelic as fuck, and it has a good vibe. No angst or sadness. The only thing that pisses me off is that because it was their only album that was even CLOSE to being like this one, I know that they were only playing this way because psychedelia was popular at the time. Which brings up a good point. You know why the 60's were a better time in general? Because "peace and love" was where the money was! Can you imagine? "Hate and money" is where the money is now. But I digress.
My favorite tracks from this acid drenched LP are: all of them, but the trippiest sounding track is "In Another Land" by Bill Wyman. Complete 180 from their usual sound.
Another great track from this album was "Sing this all Together" written by Jagger and Richards. Here's the opening lyrics:
"Why don't we sing this song all together. Open our heads, let the pictures come. And if we close all our eyes together, then we will see where we all come from".
These lyrics refer to people taking psychedelic drugs and realizing that we all come from the same place, and that we're all one. What pisses me off is that these realizations didn't carry over to the rest of their lives and music. This was a fad for them. They were fakers, even moreso than Cream.
I give this album 8 out of 10 blotter hits.

I'm sure Exile and Sticky are good Stones albums, but I wouldn't say they are psychedelic at all.
Tripping to Yes?? Oh man don't do that. You'll have lameness deeply imbedded in your subconcious. No offense.
I guess it's better than tripping to Tool.

I would get all the songs from that Stones album.
Are you talking about songs from other groups?

Rolling stones
Ech not my type of music
When tripping the key is to find a synergy between
Marley and Radiohead.
YOu will be tossed into another universe that you cannot possibly grasp.

That's cool, but I was asking that guy who said the Rolling Stones weren't good for tripping if he had heard this particular album.

I have a different theory on it though Leary... I think the Stones knew that they werent that style of music but like every band they make songs that can sound like something else know what I mean? (sorry on bad choice of words im baked to fuck) so after being together they colaboarted trippy songs they made and released it on one album.. thats just my theory tho...
