Music is one of the biggest reasons tripping is so enjoyable. For me anyway. I love music. And to hear it while on shrooms or acid is just amazing

Tripping without music, to me, is blasphemy. Before each trip I sit down and plan what albums I'm going to be listening to, and what kind of vibe I'm looking for. Sure, the wrong music can bug you out. Just take care in your selection of music. I personally don't worry too much about music that drives me crazy. I don't dose too high, 1-2 tabs each trip, and sometimes enjoy a rough ride. However, the stuff that has worked BEST for me is :
Tool - Lateralus ... A great ride. The lyrics go well with tripping; and it's psychedelic rock/metal at it's finest Pink Floyd - Ummagumma Live CD, Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon Chemical Brothers - Surrender Deftones - White Pony ... a bit dark and the lyrics are a bit twisted, but if you can handle it, it's a great trip album. It's Chino's voice that does it Velvet Acid Christ - Fun With Knives, Dimension 8 Prodigy - Fat of the Land Shpongle - Are You Shpongled?
Basically, just go through the music you really enjoy, and test it out when you're stoned. It's a sort of screening process I do to decide whether or not it might be suitable. Start off with music with a positive vibe, upbeatness to it. Anything goes really. If it makes you happy, listen to it. Say the album you picked to listen to doesn't go down well on a trip, you can always turn it off, take a break, get a drink of water, take a piss and just calm yourself and give a different album a shot. Sometimes the most unexpected album is perfect! Keep trying new stuff and you'll stumble onto a few great gems

I can't say yes or no to this question. It depends entirely on my mood and the abience. Sometimes, late at night, music just seems too loud. And other times it's the greatest experience ever.
One thing is for sure though, I hate to blast music when I'm tripping... my senses seem so hightened. I like the music to be part of the world around me, not the dominating force.

I like music to be heard as if it was coming from inside my head.

Is it all you want it to be?

I generally prefer depreviation of all sense possible. White noise can be rather thought inducing on mushrooms. Hah.

Sheila Chandra - ABoneCroneDrone. Total mushroom trip. No repetative beats, just pure droning, and she's got a beautiful voice to do it with.
Can - Tago Mago. A great way to come up. 60's band from Germany with a Japanese singer. Puts Floyd to shame.
Dead Can Dance - Spirit Chaser. Very organic.
Afro Celt Sound System - Vol 1 Sound Magic. Wonderfully uplifting, great for coming down.
Those are my favourite shroomy albums. But a lot of the time on shrooms i just lay flat on my bed, stick ear plugs in, turn out the lights and let my mind make its own music and imagery.
Another thing to do is to make your own albums up with various tunes that you think you might like, put them on CD and try them out, ditch the tracks that don't work and keep the ones that do. Eventually you'll put together some really nice CDs to trip to.
The thing for me about tripping is that it's a continuous process of perfecting the trip environment. Keep a little note book and write in it everything that you want to have to trip with. Everytime you trip collect everything in your note book together so that everything is on hand when you want it. Keep updating the list and keep improving your trip environments. Like, next time you trip, if you fancy a pizza when you come down, write it in your note book so that before the next trip you remember to load your fridge with the perfect pizza ready to go in the oven for when you come down.
Decorate the room you trip in so that it's really nice and pleasing to be in. Fill it with soft furnishings, soft toys, plants, whatever floats your boat. Just make it nice and interesting. And keep it as work in progress and keep adding to it and improving it with each trip. I've just added a CD player to my bedroom with the speakers and bass cab under my bed, it's amazing lying in the dark floating on top of the music, being totally surrounded by it.
Clean and tidy the trip environment before you take the shrooms. If you trip in a mess your trip will be a mess.
The 6 P's... Preparation and Planning Prevents a Piss Poor Performance. If you just jump into trips without thought and consideration then you'll find that a lot of them fuck up. This is fine once you have a lot of experience and want to try silly things when tripping, but for newbies, get to know yourself and how you react to specific things in a controlled and safe environment.
Tripping is the most wonderful thing in life, welcome to the club.

Early Pink Floyd is the best. The latter shit like the wall is too depressing for me. Interstellar overdrive is awesome on acid!

I find on low doses music isn't that great, but once you get to level 4 and upwards, you can lie in bed and close your eyes and go into this alternate universe where music sounds absolutely unbelievable. Tool - Lateralus = the best tripping album

Yes, Lateralus is awesome.

Music is very important during a trip. Not so much that you just listen to music in general, but, you must listen to the right music. If your getting bad vibes from the music your listening to it is easy to fix. Simply change the music. Also, i would listen to music you know youll have a good time with... this doesnt mean listen to albums that you happen to like... when tripping i find music i like sober is not pleasing while tripping. Here is some music i feel you can never go wrong with:
Pink floyd Trance electronic classical Led Zeplin Jimmy Hendrix Jim Morrison Love songs Bob Marley **never rap or Metal or anything to hard sounding**

Yeah, there isn't really anything better than trippin and listening to Lateralus . . . except maybe seeing Tool live while trippin. I got to see them twice this fall, and I couldn't find mushrooms/acid anywhere, but it was still amazing.
