I think that we had contact at the beginning.  A "lost" civilization that was alien in nature, but they left and have been watching us from a distance since history began.  I also think that with the first explosion of the atomic bomb that that was kinda of a wake up call to the galaxy, if not the universe, that this lowly "human" planet was starting to come around in terms of its level of sophistication. 

Why is it that the atomic cloud looks like a mushroom?  If the mushroom theorists are correct in that we evolved from apes by the use of hallucinogenic mushrooms, then the atomic bomb is a sign that we're on the right track in terms of knowledge gained.  But its our wisdom that is lacking.  And what is the cause of the lack of wisdom?  Simple.  The baby-boomers.  Only when they and their egos are off this planet will we be able move onto higher levels of consciousness.

millenium, that sounds like a bunch of drunken ramble, I can't even sit to read through it. how about using some punctuation between separate ideas at least?


anyways, my thought is that there is an intelligent force but like Shroomism states it lies in another dimension or set of dimensions. i have little interest in finding aliens in this dimension because frankly life here is too short. i mean, it would be cool and definitely a consciousness banger, but i won't wait around for them. too many problems, like others have said, that deserve more critical attention and effort here on earth.

Well i have seen some shit in the skies while sober! I'm not saying i tihnk there are aliens out there i know there are. Us humans dont want to believe that there are other species out there. There is so much space and we cant explore it all because of modern technology. We say there arent aliens because we havent found any proof of water and living life on other planets even though aliens may not need water or any of the elements on earth to survive. Me and my bro have seen while sober a star in the sky get bigger and smaller several times ( about 8 or 9 times ) and then it disapeared... It was gone and it never came back. We also saw a star in the sky that was flashing red, green, and blue in an organized pattern. You could actually see the colors it wasnt like when you see a star and you see the very light flashing lights around it and the next night we got high and it wasnt there.

Consider this scenario:

You have two planets. On one planet a tribal race of humans and on the other a somewhat advanced (radio transmitting) civilization. How would the tribal race detect the advanced race with their technology? Even if they somehow figured out how to receive analog radio waves, how would they know what they were hearing/looking at was evidence indicative of an advanced race? How would they disect the pattern of information?

It would be extremely hard.

Very similiar to our situation. If we picked up a signal how would we know it was an alien transmission? Most likely their compression algorithms and data transmissions are extremely advanced to the point of non-recognition.

Well for very intelligence species, anyway. Maybe if the civilization was roughly in our period of technology we could detect them but thats such a brief time span because technology progression is not linear but rather exponential. Once it takes off, it flies; and that can be easily seen with computing technology.

I'm considering the fact that we might be all alone in the Universe. Blessed with the gift of supreme intellect, we will create, calculate, and spread life through the Universe. The masses think we are not alone, and the masses have a history for being wrong. What if we were all alone, the only beings able to reverse engineer the structure of the cosmos?

Thats wrong.

We HAVE found water on other planets AND we have found life (basic bacteria) on space rocks.

But I agree, that, the predujice about life elsewhere, remains at large.

aw, not at all. why would you think that. its not my style to mock people. I really believe in aliens and I don't think its all that far fetched to believe they are allready here. They say truth is stranger than fiction.

i am dead serious, man think of all the million and billions of different alein cultures out there. Think of all the shit out there that needs to be tried. One day when we have interstellar shipping lanes, its going to be cool all the shit we will have. fucking wal mart will be selling mad alien shit.

i am interested in dreams as a way to contact alien intelligences ... for example, i once had a very powerfull dream where i went to "salvia land"

which was this phenomenally cool liquid green jungle landscape that smelt moist and alive and was populated by these droopy green people, salvia shamans, who brewed this fantastic mulchy drink. although they spoke no english, i was able to communicate with sign language.

First they made a gesture of disgust at the drink, indicating that it tasted foul. then they made a gesture with there hands, indicating opening eyes, which to me meant that the drink was psychadelic.

so i drank the drink, which wasnt as bad as i expected, like cold oatmeal... i didnt trip but was then able to speak to the beings verbally.

we talked for a while about life and drugs and salvia and plants and the jungle.. all the details are lost...

anyways things like that make me wonder...

that is all.

This is a matter of some debate among scientists. None of my professors believe that the structures found on the Mars Asteroids from Antarctica are anything except oddly shaped weathering, as opposed to being indicative of other worldly life.
