We can use other alternatives. Unless they need to but hey do what you got to do or what you need to do but don't be greedy we have an unlimited amount of resources we could use. Please don't take this offensive but I believe its true life would be so much better if we use these resources also. Yea you may say I'm a hippie but I'm not I'm just a human behing looking toward the future and to better our selves.

i'm the only one that said yes for both so far. if there was a differnt way to go besides oil i would say new nrg source but since we are only talking about OIL i say lets go get it.

Yes/no. I would care alot if I had to pay that much. I'd have to resort to chopping wood down to keep the fireplace going. But I don't support a war for oil. I think the technology to become free of fossil fuels is already here, but it would cost alot more to switch everything over to accomodate the new fuels than it is to just keep doing what we're doing now. I think that until we actually start seeing prices hit over $5-$6 a gallon, alternative fuels are more costly... as a country anyway. The dependency on oil will eventually become a drag on the economy, which i believe will in turn force us to find other sources of energy.

We get 2 loads of Coal every winter and thats all we need. Well.. we get one early fall and another in the winter. If it gets cold in the summer, then we got a fire place.

I'd use coal if it were available cheap. Otherwise it would be wood. Going out this weekend to get some for the parents house. Gotta love sitting by the fireplace.

Dunno how much it costs, ill ask my dad. Fireplaces yes. nothing better really. So warm. I love cold days next to a warm fireplace.

think people the south is filled with deserts. we could set up 45,000,000 windmills there. 1,000,000 water mills down the Mississippi. solar power everywhere down south the sun shines like a fucking solar flair down there because of this bull shit pollution in the air. Killing the ozone and causing global warming. I bet there are even better resources then that as for making petroleum products we need oil. I'm sorry people wars just wrong better way to handle things then act like a bunch of raw minded apes going around shooting people and blowing them up but hey we are just human what can we do. fix shit you fucking idiot.

biodiesel dammit!! I remember reading shit about using hemp for fuel oil, and how 1% of our aeriable farm land could supply all our energy need...

In that case why not use 5-10% of our farm land to make biodiesel, and sell the excess to other countries...  It just bothers the shit out of me that none of the US car manufactures make diesel/biodiesel passenger vehicles for sale in our own country...Its fucking retarded.

We could just do biodiesel, it would be alot less expensive (I also read up on how to produce your own biodiesel, and your fuel cost (cost of production) was roughly 55-60 cents a gallon) than hydrogen, or setting up, and maintaining solar energy.  Burns a fuck of a lot cleaner than gas or petrol-diesel, and its great for the enviroment because it carbon neutral (doesn't put out more carbon than the plants took in).  It would be so easy to make and use, but the fucks who care more about cash are holding it back.  I dont understand the point of amassing more money than is humanly possible to spend in a lifetime(s).  These peckerbitches need to get their act together, and start working to benefit all of humankind :banghead:.

I apologize for the rant, but big oil (and oil in general) annoys the fuck out of me.

I agree that there are plenty of better ways to produce energy, but on a massive scale it would be very expensive. You have to research and develop the fuel. Then research and develop products and delivery systems. Then build the factories to build the parts. Then convert the current infrastructure and make the products that are compatible.

if thats is the case we may never see alt energy replace fossil fuels until the cost of using oil would be greater than converting everything, or until we ran out of oil.
