Ahhh The smell of Psilocybe

In the last year I have acquired a new seance of smell :thumbup:...

I keep all my dry specimen's in glass bottles.:bottledup:

Over the last 12 month I have figured that I can about tell a mushroom by its smell..

I have only three specimen's but in all three cases There is a define  Psilocybe smell..

It differs a lil between all three samples but in a whole its the same..

Wet smell vs. Dry smell...

You get a defiant smell off fresh... But wean they are dry and concentrated the smells just intense..

I catch myself all the time taking off the lids and smelling each sample... Its quite satisfying.. In a strange kinda way! :smirk:

I have heard of this B4 but never thought much of it..
I have not seen a thread about it so I figured I would start one..

Yeah, sometimes when I'm walking through a field I can smell that. It's disticnt and demands your attention.
Alittle trick for storage; I keep them in a jar with one of those little dry things that come in aspirin bottles (after being cracker dried) Before closing the jar, I pour in co2 made by mixing baking soda and vinegar. Stored in the fridge.
They keep a long time.

sup, Yessup. Heheheheh. Yeah, even though I think it's just stinky, I can't help but smell that strange musk of fungii.

And LouiseLouise, thanks for that storage tip. I'll have to remember that. I eat alot of Slim Jim beef jerky, and the bags always have those little dry thingies. Cool.
