It's also reasonable that since you share the same brain topology, you experienced the same delusion. Given the complete absence of evidence to support EITHER conclusion, why choose one over the other?

because i believe i have evidence to support one conclusion. but regardless, your assetion that we experienced the same delusion is irrevelent. if that is so my interest still lies in the understanding of the phenomenon, delusion or otherwise. on the other hand what if it wasn't a delusion? then there must be some kind of explanation and i am free to theorize about such an explanation. if you're uncomfortable with my dismissal of the delusion hypothesis then you may simply consider all my theories as under the assumption that the delusion hypothesis is not an adequate explanation.

But this is not a search for the Truth but rather a search for a justification of belief. It is stagnation because by your own admission

no it's not, i am still searching for higher truth and i am willing to let go of any and all my beliefs to find that truth. but as i explained before, i am not going to let go of my belief in hummingbirds simply because someone presents a logical argument that says hummingbirds cannot exist. when you come face to face with a hummingbird all logical problems with the existance of hummingbirds become irrevelant.

Spirituality is about not making up your mind and only standing on a particular position temporarily while seeking a new position of greater understanding.

THAT is spirituality and growth.

i agree and that is how i operate. i am constantly in the process of revising and adding to my understanding. all my beleifs merely reflect the level of understanding which i am currently giving the most attention. in fact i don't expect them to all hold true, they are merely a stepping stone to an ever higher understanding.

I more or less agree with you on rule #2, but I don't think it will result in the same 'problems' as in the past.

What did the public want? Rules are dynamic at the Shroomery, we can change them. I don't think rule #2 will cause any problems though, but I'm sure we can talk about changing/removing that rule.


Rule #2 is basically the same as what Rono wrote in the PA&L rules:

That's it..Basically I am looking to create a more tolerant atmosphere in here...it's not too much to ask. There are many different views and beliefs represented in this forum, more so than any other (with the possible exception of the S & P forum) and we need to be able to communicate our points of view clearly without resorting to petty name calling. We are better than that.




We have the same rules in here as in PA&L. That's at least what we tried to do as far as I know.

I KNOW, but in THIS FORUM, people will find loopholes around rule #2 (cock'n balls :smirk:). That is what they DO. So, it would be wise to rephrase it, or make it a guideline (like Rono did in PA&L), rather than a rule.
