when i talk about things, the more energy i put into defending my beliefs, often times shows me that i have no pudding to put the proof in.

i know where i say i stand, but is there really any ground there for my thoughts at all? do i follow my own advice, walk that path i preach?

not always.

I was raised in a protestant christian household (not catholic).

For years upon years, I was taught and embraced the religion.

My parents said they believed, and I said I believed, too.

Well, time went on, and I observed my parents, and I observed all the people at my private religious school. I realized that about 95% of the people I came in contact from day to day said that they believed, but when it came down to it, their actions spoke much louder. I realized that instead of being surrounded with people who shared my beliefs and were good people, most of them said the opposite through their actions.

This bothered me for a while, until I observed myself. I had "believed" in the religion because that's what I was trained to do as a child. If I didn't, I was going to go to hell and suffer... or at least that's what I was taught by both the church and my private school. the more I explored the topics of god, spirituality, evolution, etc... the more I realized that I did not agree with the beliefs of the protestant christian religion.

I'm assuming closet homosexuals go through similar experiences. (no, i'm not calling you a homosexual)


Sometimes we repeat things we've heard without really questioning our fundamental belief of them.

Sometimes we look for proof in areas where it cannot be found.
