In almost any situation, the people paying the most taxes are given the least benefit. I think that their should be a flat rate federal income tax that would be VERY small, just to pay for what the Constitution enumerates federal tax dollars should be used for. The states may raise money however htey want, but their needs to be a limit on it.

The problem I have with most taxation is that, as I said, the people who pay into it the most usually get the least benefit. If we eliminated social programs, I'd be a bit happier when I have to pay taxes.

Paradigm, there is nothing wrong with immigration per se. However, as long as politicians choose to allow illegal immigrants to come to this country, squeeze out a kid and then make taxpayers pay for all the benefits for that kid, then it should be stopped. As long as illegal immigrants come to California (or any other state) and are encouraged to vote in elections in which it is not permitted to ask for ID, then it has to stop. As long as illegal immigrants can go into any public building, get a voter registration card, drop it in the mail and register to vote without anyone checking that's it's valid when they do so, then it has to stop. As long as illegal immigrants come to this country and go to the emergency rooms of hospitals for non-emergency treatment and leave without paying, thereby burdening the emergency room resources and passing the costs onto the paying customer, it has to stop. As long as (for whatever reason) Islamicist who hate the U.S. and would like to come here to do harm to civilians for any reason, then it has to stop. I could go on, but you should get the idea.

I am for free immigration as a matter of principle, but only after the welfare state has been dismantled and people do not come here burdening the taxpayers and/or infrastructure, and we do not have religious nutbags wanting to kill civilians. It is a PRIMARY responsibility of the federal government to protect the citizens. By not taking reasonable measures to stop people such as international gang-bangers and jihadists from coming over our borders, bypassing ports of entry, the federal government is shirking it's duty.
