Homeland Security Bill passes
    #1052853 - 11/14/02 05:00 PM (14 years, 7 months ago)

And the Democrats who voted against it did so because there was no clause about worker protection.

Jeepers, why are people no longer voting Democrat???

They've become the Irrelevant party. Homeland security is a civil rights/privacy issue. Every moron knows that. But here come the Democrats to disagree with it not on those grounds but on totally irrelevant horse shit.

Democrats have no identity. That's why they lose. They are "the other". That's it. No more.

People whining about checks and balances. News flash guys, at the federal level, and probably even at the state level and township level a lot of the times, the only difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is that some call themselves Republicans and some call themselves Democrats.

Yeah Doob! Right on.  I don't which pisses me off more the Republicans that are supposed to be all about Constitutional rights or the Democrats which are supposed to look out for the little people and vote against the Republican Congress!

Fuckers!

Opposing these 'anti-terror' measures are loser politics. Unless that changes don't expect the D's or the R's to flip flop on this.

The democrats have no spine. They come across as whiny and ineffectual. Based on this, I can can see why people vote Republican. Sometimes it feels better to do something(even if it is the wrong thing), than nothing.

I sometimes agree.  If a group is DOING something, even if it is wrong, at least they have the potential to do good.  If they muck things up enough maybe the joe citizen will get a fire under his ass and become active!

Whiners that complain but don't do anything aren't helping the situation.

If only more people would look at problems as their problems, and not let someone else do it  :frown:    Veering off topic but an example:  I pick up trash when I walk around my college campus.  Paper, food wrappers, etc.  Several people have greeted me and actually thanked me.  Have anyone else, even the ones that thanked me helped?  No!  If only people would realize the hazard of inaction.  It makes me very sad some days to be lumped in this group called "human"  :frown:

Frog - I agree with everything you're saying here. In the other thread on the homeland security act, I was talking about the hazards of inaction too. We're on the same page I think.
