Kafka: The Castle

Finished reading this a few days ago. Quite worth the effort I must say. The writing is very energetic considering the entire book is basically one long paragraph.

Anyone else read this?

I feel this is the appropriate forum because Kafka is often associated with existentialism, which is a philosophy.

I'll check it out. They only Kafka work I've read so far is the short story, The Metamorphosis, which I loved completely.

I love this book.

The point that the book makes is acted out by the actions of the reader. Fantastically clever.

I felt that the fact that it was unfinished contributed to the absurdist feel of the whole thing.

The main character struggles relentlessly and gets nowhere in a never-ending, pointless, and incomprehensible world.
The reader does the same.

When i finished it i couldn't help thinking 'Kafka you clever little fucker, you got me!'.
