Is it a serious issue
    #16407979 -

to eat breakfast for dinner?  Does that somehow relate to the Absurdist philosophical position as a proof of said philosophy?

Is a pear/ginger sauce acceptable as a substitue for maple syrup on waffles?

I've never had pear sauce, but I like pear juice so perhaps I'll pick some up next time I'm at the store. Thanks for the tip.

I sometimes have omelets for dinner and don't think too much of it.

You're kind of an old timer like me, so if by dinner you mean lunch, that is completely cool. I like to sleep in sometimes too.

Sometimes I have leftovers for breakfast.  And not just pizza but pasta, Thai, sub sandwiches ...  Eat your waffles and enjoy that pear ginger sauce!

You, old?  :curbyourenthusiasm:

No I'm serving eggs, thick sliced organic pepper bacon, waffles with pear/ginger sauce, maple syrup, greek strawberry yogurt and black coffee  at 5 PM to an old biker friend tonight. I have come to realize that this is absurd on par with everything else we value.  We will also be listening to Frank Zappa and Miles Davis and King Crimson.  This is of course is complete nonsense but seems like the proper course of action at this time.

Tomorrow or the next day I will ingest XTC and 2CB.  Life will seem to make sense for about eight hours at which time I will realize how absurd that notion is.

  I seem to be stuck at the bottom of the rabbit hole, maybe forever. Death seems to be the only door way possibly leading out, subjectively speaking.

Sounds like a good time.

And there is no way out of the rabbit hole, you just have to accept where you have found yourself imo. Or not and experience a little more suffering until you die.

Are you wondering if Camus would find breakfast for dinner as absurd?

My only question is aren't you concerned about having coffee at 5:00 p.m.?

Supper serious...

If the holder of food taboos recognizes them as personal rather than universal ideals, they may hold an absurdist position.  I'm not sure how one would prove absurdism other than by disproving the universals so often taken as truth and repeatedly communicating this clearly to the faithful, then observing the fallout into one of Camus' categories.  Matters of meal-time seem minor amongst those universals.  Bigger fish need be fried (at the appropriate time).

In any case, break faith in breakfast if you find meaning in doing so.

Maple syrup is an acceptable substitute for fruit sauce on waffles.

Serious in the eye of the beholder. It doesn't matter what or when someone decides to eat - it only matters to oneself. :tongue2:

Unfortunately due to a dysfunctional upbringing everything is a concern.

But coffee should be fine.

Thanks for your words of wisdom.  One question?  If everything is absurd how can there be bigger fish to fry?
