Hey! I keep seeing this grey shit! There were two jars that were taking forever to colonize so they were took out and birthed. They stank and where the uncolonized part was, it was just grey. It was not furry or hairy or fluffy. Just grey. What the fuck is it!?!? A new batch was started with a new syringe and after waiting awhile and seeing no mycelial growth whatsoever a jar was opened and what looked like a little bit of that same shit was saw! What the fuck could it be?!?! The substrate is vermiculite and brown rice flour. Is it possible that the jars could be heating up too much during sterilization and the brf or verm is burnt?!?!
