Mycellium in Vermiculite layer????

I recently went to check some jars I innoculated with equador. they are pint wide mouth tapered jars, (if that makes a difference) I only innoculated 6 days ago and the jars are allready 80% covered. Don't go WooHoo yet. I opened The top of my fastest growing jar to get a wiff of that ever so pleasant mushi aroma, and to my dismay I noticed a small amount of white around the rim of my jar. on closer examination I could see mycellium had actually grown up into the 1/2 in layer of verm. I put on the very top. So do you think I should worry about this being cobbweb or is it possible that my mycellium is actually that aggressive.

P.S. The aroma was that of mushrooms and nothing else. THANKS

Yeah Moe is right. Hopefully you didnt introduce anything into your sterile enviorment.

To answer your question, just about every single jar that I open has Mycellium growing in the Vermiculite layer. If you let the jar colonize long enough it will have some MYCE in the vermiculite.
