Galaxies?

Forgive me if I am making another topic too soon. But this has been on my mind, and can only ask around on this one I believe. I think...


Say you were to zoom out of this picture, into empty space. The very outer reaches of all these galaxies that can go as far as imagined. To empty space.

This picture, above. if you were to go to the farthest outer reaches of space. Would then itself look like a galaxy too.

That our galaxies which we can see, I would call Alpha Galaxies. And then if we were to zoom out farther into "empty space". I would then call a Beta Galaxy, a large cluster of all of the clusters of Alpha ones. And then a large cluster of Beta Galaxies I would call Gamma Galaxies. And so on and so forth. The possibilities would be infinite, and keep going into clusters and clusters and clusters.

So if this is true then yes, something very large is out there that could wipe us away like literally "The Hand Of God" or whatever. Would we know it? No. So it does exist. It's right in front of our eyes.

Empty space? Yeah, there is. But all of it isn't empty. It can't be.

Or I am wrong. And that all our galaxies are not one cluster of a Beta Galaxy. Science already thought of this, right? I'm pretty sure. So is it wrong? I don't know. But it would make sense.

Well the layout of galaxies doesn't really "look" (even from VERY far away) like a normal galaxy, or even like a globular cluster.

It has been known for quite some time now that the galaxies in space are arranged in pillar-like formations. Kind of like strings of galaxies with VAST empty voids between them.

It might look kind of like a sponge, from a VERY far off vantage point :wink:

Agreed

Isn't it funny how very much things look the same when we view them from far away or from very close. I.E. Solar systems, cells, galaxies, Atoms, quarks etc.......

No I think that IS the right topic!

As fucknuckle said, things look relatively the same whether you look at large scales or small scales. That shows a great deal of self-organization...which could be considered "god" :wink:

I have always thought if you could look at Love in a tangable, physical way and see it with your eyeballs. It would look like a cell with all the things of love spinning around itself flowing around a center......God. The parts the bits and pieces are us. We ourselves being made up very similar to the cell. Atoms with orbiting parts etc...

Yeah, I look at certain galaxy clusters as that one. It does remind me of cells and such. As if we were living inside of a body, which would make sense. A God who can control itself and everything that it is, alpha and omega, etc, etc, it would make sense if we were inside of it. And yet, we are physical. Everything in this reality. The resemblance of cells from these galaxies to what we can see under a microscope is phenomenal as if it was a message of.. well, a law.

I could see that it may all be in a pillar. But things orbit, around gravity, or come together in clusters. As galaxies merge also. I'm not sure still. I mean, it could all just be floating there but if I were to go beyond all these galaxies and look at them from far away it would seem as cluster, father and father away I went, even if it were in a pillar. If I went out farther and father, it would eventually seem as a dot, or circular. Even if it were in a horizontal or vertical line.

I also thought maybe it would be odd if all of this were like a Lava Lamp. And flowed like it. Up and down and around, all in a large mass. And that the "lava" is the dark matter, perhaps? Dark matter would be holding it all together.

What is that, psyka?

Self organization would be god, or whatever. I mean, I know what you are saying. But then if it were, this reality would exist from itself which wouldn't make sense because something physical always comes from something physical at least, pure energy which is physical. Until it goes back to that singularity of a source which then would have to ask where that came from? A rip between realities is the only way I can comprehend it. A tear of light and dark. Separation of light and dark? But still, in order for there to be a tear between dimensions we would have to see it to compr- or comprehend it to see it in our mind which would have to be physical. Well, I'll try to say it this way.

Say everything was blank and black, which would have to be physical. No galaxies or anything. Just void, yeah. In order for there to be a tear into this void which we can see when we close our eyes. Imagine a tear into this void. For imagination reference, an elliptical tear in the middle of this void. And then all this crap pouring into this reality from the other side. lol that's the only way I could see really.

Most galaxies are actually moving away from eachother due to the expansion of the Universe. For our galaxy, it is only the closest neighbor galaxies (the "Local Group") that are close enough for gravitational attraction to overcome the expansion.

Because of this, if you looked at the Universe from a far-off vantage point, it would look like a lattice-network (pillars of galaxies) but one in which the lattice is "bumpy" due to localized clustering of galaxies. Most galaxies are just far too separated to have a strong gravitational effect on eachother, though.

In a few billion years, or more, our galaxy will collide with the Andromeda galaxy. It won't be a pretty sight :smirk:
