I was merely giving an explaination to why black holes seem to radiate energy that we can see.
I know whole virtual particles get sucked in, but when only of of the pair enters the black hole, it causes the other particle to drift into space-time making it seem that the black hole is radiating light.  :grin:

Actually, it's a star that has run out of nuclear fuel, and collapsed in on itself into a perfectly spherical black hole.
"When the mass of a star is concentrated in a small enough region, the gravitational field at its surface is so strong that light can no longer escape". :wink:
