So, those of libertarian minds out there

    I'm wondering when the godless libertarians of this nation will rise up and vote as a culture, en masse, and respect an individual as the most rationale being to decide on that individual's lifestyle.  Gay marriage, cigarettes, a liter of vodka a day, psychedelics (incidentally). 

    It's too bad people of a given worldview in the U.S. have to wait out the death of the anti-hippie white-hairs in power right now; and the middle-aged evangelist over-reach whores that form a conservative "coalition." 
    I really don't care if you believe in a given economic theory; I didn't study that and I think either side would be hard-pressed to give substantial evidence that would support a given economic policy.  And let's not even get into what a "higher standard of living" actually means in terms of quality of life issues. 
    Anyway, I can dig on the more libertarian leaning, godless, conservatives.  But I can't take the oldschool pro-vietnam fucks on the right, or, the evangelicals in the moment of ascendency now, that slobber all over US politics.
    Just leave me alone.  I leave you alone.  Don't legislate your beef on me.  I don't want to dump my tankard of BBQ sauce all over everything.  :smirk:

I think that forming an organised group of libertarians will somewhat defeat the purpose of libertarianism

Not at all. Libertarians are not anarchists. With the continuing self-immolation of those in this country with liberal ideas and the coming Euro-socialist debacle, sane Democrats will join with the Libertarian wing of the Republican party (it is no small thing) and Utopia will be achieved.

Just because we're libertarian doesn't mean we're right wing nuts.

It just means that we want things run on a local level, and that each state, each county should be left to decide it's own health care systems, drug laws, marriage laws, etc.

I think it's an awesome idea. Doesn't it sound fucked up that a tiny percentage of people (i.e. the fat cat feds that never had a work a real fucking job in their lives) are deciding whats right for 300,000,000 people living lifestyles they'd never understand, in geographies they've never seen, with urban problems they've never had to deal with or never really gave a shit about?
