This happen regularly??

My temps and sterile techniques are to the letter this time. Still, Only one jar is colonizing... and is half done. Been about a week.

same thing happened to me my first time incubating. I figured I put a little more spore juice in that 1 jar. they still all colonized in under 12 days. ---[grain]---

Sorry to be a dickhead, but seriously, this guy hasnt even got a clue how to do anything relating to cultivation, and hes now answering questions. Please man, try not to post on here untill you have done a shitload of reading, its really annoying. I understand ur a noob, i am too, but take the time to educate yourself first before you try and educate others in this area.

Hi, im not experienced with this at all, so its just based on my reading. But from what ive heard it can take upto 2 weeks, so id just be patient, might just be taking a while to start.

Same here. I have no idea how many questions hes answered, but i think the majority of his posts are from the threads he created, he made like 10 of em in a few hrs, rediculous. :nonono:

Perhaps whatever was in the syringe was not well distributed?
You may get some growth if you wait,
but if you have more empty jars,
and something with which to innoc,
then start some more.

I had two jars out of 24 with no growth. Others colonized at different rates. I suspect the reason was I didn't vigorously shake the spore syringes between each and every inoculation.

Not at all sure whats going on here... I was pretty good with my innoculating technique too.

Though I did re-sterilize the needle tip with alcohol once through the batch.

Was this a mistake?? Could that have "killed" the spores?

None the less I'm excited about the one jar I have and the lessons in sterilization have been golden.

Besides, Im likely just being impatient.

I flamed the needle and dipped it in alcohol between each jar, so I don't think your dipping it in alcohol was the issue. I've had inconsistent results with my liquid cultures also. All of my jars that have grown myc showed growth within 5 days, regardless of the strain, and I have the following strains growing now: PR, A, EQ, KS, CA, Z, PF, OI, and KC. My second batch of jars are showing better all-round colonization than the first batch, and I think this is because I took care to shake the syringe between each and every inoculation, not just between jars.

I finally sprung for a TiT setup, and after some adjustments, I'm getting consistent temps. Before I was using ice chests, one with an aquarium heater bomb (heater mounted in a plastic water bottle full of water) and one with a large hot pad under the chest. Temps were all right with those, but there were sometimes variations of several degrees depending on ambient temp. I spawned my first PR cake in h poo two days ago, and when I peeked at it today, I was gratified to see that cubes LOVE poo, just like the big boys and girls tell us. Thanks, again, to you experienced growers who take the time and trouble to help us noobies.

Many days later still nothing on the rest of teh jars.

Any advice?

I have some Liquid culture.

Should I re-inoculate with that?

Well... I know I hit up 18 grain jars (with LC though, but sterile steps are the same)... and all I did before-hand was flame the needle, and wipe it with an alcohol dipped cotton-swab, and then did all 18 jars.

How many CC's did you put in each jar? I know if you put too much juice in a jar it can mess things up (so I've heard)... What temps are the jars at? The INSIDE of the jar should be near 82-88F... like, the CORE of your jars should be that hot, not just the outside, you know? How humid?

Ok, here's the deal. Many things that everyone has said in this post have been correct. All of them pretty much. I find that the jars colonize better in 80-86 degrees F. 88 sounds a little high to me but hey, what's two degrees. YES I ALSO THINK THAT EVEN NEWBIES SHOULD STOP GIVING OUT DIPSHIT ADVICE BEFORE EDUCATING THEMSELVES OR EXPERIENCING CULTIVATION TEKS. I am not familiar with Liquid Culture but, let me just say this. It has only been a week. HAVE PATIENCE. I recommend putting your colonizing jars somewhere dark and warm, and NOT FUCKING TOUCHING THEM for another week and a half at least! Don't look, don't fan, don't kiss, or smell them, just let em' do thier thang' man! I'd be willing to bet when you sneak a gander in a week and a half, more than 50% will have some sort of growth. And if not, well then you can message me and tell ME to go educate myself further.  Otherwise, you can just send me half of what your yield is :smile:. JK.  And remember, just think like the mycelium. And if you DO figure out a way tried and true not to look at your mycelium for X amount of days, let me know, because I am a huge fucking hipocrit! Good luck.

2 weeks.

84 degrees.

Dark container.

1cc each jar.

Fanning/checking once every 2 days.

1 jar almost completely colonized.

2 suffered contams and were removed.

the rest are still naked and sleeping.

um well... it doenst hurt to check your jars once a day for contams, because if one of your jars does contam, you would need to take it out and toss it immediately... waiting for your jars takes patience but it will come.. if you dont see any growth within 2 weeks of inoculation then you can start worrying, for now just relax... :smile:
