Your Erroneous Zones - ever read it?
    #4126016 - 05/03/05 01:29 AM (12 years, 4 months ago)

This book holds some incredibly solid advice. It's defenitely a self-help book of sorts. It's about breaking the cycle of negative thinking and taking more control of how you feel and how you act. It's not about how other people treat you, it's about how you treat yourself. It's not about how other people "make you feel", it's about how you make yourself feel when you think about them.

It's really solid advice. It's almost so solid that you'd never think of it. This is practically the foundation of mental health and I don't think a lot of people know this stuff. It's just not part of pop mental-health culture. Surely a book worthy of reading.

I'm not even done with it but I'm eating every page up 100%. It's really great.

Sounds like a good book. All of our issues are our own, don't let anyone tell you any differently.

Yeah. It took me almost 20 years and a very not-fun acid trip with my best friend to realize it's all inside.

So obvious but sometimes it just isn't.

freddurgan, do you own the book? If so, any interest in trading it when you're finished? I can hook you up in a trade; I'd like to read that book for certain.

Dr. Wayne Dyer is good listening/reading too, somewhat along the same lines. "The only real problems you have in life are the ones your brain creates" So true, and powerful.

I read the book when it came out, many years ago. It is great advice.

I will tell you though the best book like this I have ever found I got for 67 cents at the Goodwill. It's called the Handbook to Higher Consciousness, by Ken Keyes. WOW!

I can't trade it, I'm sorry =( It's my dad's and he gave it to me.

But I will try out that Handbook to Higher Consciousness. Seems a lot of people really like that book.

But Diver, don't let me not trading it stop you from reading it. It's a fairly thin book (240 pages with index included) so it shouldn't cost you much. It's a great book and I think a lot of people here could benefit from it. I know I have benefited from it more than I thought possible and I've only been reading it for a few days now.
