There is some truth in what you say, but it is not cut & dried like you make it out to be. We are NOT all equally deluded. Some are more grounded and rational than others.

Someone who believes that they can perform telekinesis (as been told to me here hundreds of times), yet cannot demonstrate it, is highly delusional.

People who believe in Astrology, yet cannot accurately pick out a reading about their sign, are delusional.

There are four types of beliefs:

1. Those based on facts (complete data).

2. Those based on patterns (incomplete data).

3. Baseless beliefs (wish-fulfillment, hope, faith, brain-washing, adoption, habit; etc.).

4. Unknown. No opinion.

If I say the toilet paper MUST be folded over and you say that it must be folded under; a third-party who says it makes no difference is the most sane of the three.

Relating this to racquetball (to piss off certain readers  :tongue2: ):

I can say that my approach is the best in the world. If I am not #1, then I am delusional. If I am #1, then this is fact! ALL others MUST accept the fact that there is some weakness or fallibility in their game. PERIOD.

This is true in all endeavors. We have four options:

1. Pretend that we are the greatest.

2. Accept that we are not the greatest and be content with our current level (of fitness, wealth, romance, etc.)

3. Accept that we are not the greatest and become a life-long student by emulating those who have achieved more in our current focus.

4. Accept that we are not the greatest and become pioneers in developing new approaches.

To say that all of these attitudes are equally insane is fallacious.

I HAVE SPOKEN!

telekinesis has been measured in labs over and over again in history, but such data is not significant in science

Not true. Data is always significant. Poorly collected data and omitted data is another story. Tests which show no telekinesis are not published and paraded around; those seem to; are.

Repeatability of such psi tests as you mention fail time and again.

for an object to be significant it has to have a person to whom it is significant, right?
Since mainstreem science has no interest in any kind of data regarding what they call "paranormal", such data is not significant.

No matter who is the scientist that experiences and records such a phenomenon, the only thing that will change is his reputation, and it will change to worse

I never said that we are equally insane/deluded, but UNIQUELY! We all look through the lense of our own unique personal experiance. And since we can only draw upon our own experiance and memories in order to construct reality, our dulussions are EQUALLY VALID. I cannot tell you or know how you should/do think because I can only make judgements based on my own knowledge, experiances, and conditioning. This renders all opinions, thoughts, observations of fact and phenomenon equally valid and paradoxically useless.

We all know what is "real" and what is not; we all know that pigs don't fly and shit citrus fruits. But what is happening inside of our heads is real. The experiance was real, despite the fact that it can't be confirmed consensually.

Group consensus neither confirms nor denies the absolute validity/reality of an object, idea, or phenomenon. Only relative validity/reality can be confirmed.

This is something you just made up. Science is into repeatable experiments. The infamous Princeton TK studies are decades old and others have been unable to duplicate the extremely tiny effect that was claimed.

I returned to the main page of this forum from reading that and saw a post header that said, Sometimes a burrito eats you and one that said Becoming a fruit.

As a rational man that you are, I ask you, would you be interested in such proof? Proof of anything "paranormal"? I think not
