Anything weaker than an apology?
    #15494097 -

Using three words as a substitute for a lack of consideration, sensitivity and a hurtful action means what exactly? That you got caught?

True true true.  I try not to accept or give apologies.

It's a pitiful effort to derail revengification. (Am I allowed to make up words in this forum?)

That's not true. You can only make up words if they're fully cromulent.

Republican Values:

1) You can't get married to your spouse who is the same sex as you.
2) You can't have an abortion no matter how much you don't want a child.
3) You can't have a certain plant in your possession or you'll get locked up with a rapist and a murderer.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

A pre-apology does buy you some leeway.

An apology without a positive acceptor is worthless
The acceptor should be alarmed if one tries to pre apology to him and better punch him out of his shoes first, before he does any harm....

Well, there was one friend who apologized years later - and that was different, because it was heartfelt.

It's usually easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.  :smirk:

The only true apology is "I am sorry I didn't know any better." Everyone wants the best for himself, so everyone does what he thinks is best. People just don't know what is best for them. People don't know the joy of living a peaceful, just life, the freedom and knowledge it brings. All wrong is done out of ignorance. "Forgive them Father, they know not what they do." Separation is just an idea, hurting others is hurting yourself. That is why guilt, heaviness, and shame follow. "I didn't know any better, I have not experienced a better way, I am sorry." This alone is real, and it is an apology to oneself, which is all. The good path is more full than the bad, but one must learn what is bad through experience before one chooses good. Peace, Peace, Peace.

an apology is coming face to face with the person you wronged and acknowledging that what you did was wrong. Why would you never apologize to anyone?

surely an apology represents a shortcoming, but at its core its a decent act. I think there are apologies with nothing to back them up, or apologies that are used as lies, but a sincere apology i think is pretty easy to pick out and accept.
