Florida Cubes

Spent about an hour in a single cow pasture in Central Florida this past week and this is what I came up with...

This was the majority of them, a little disapointing but my first FLORIDA find, so quite exciting as well...
Just thought I'd share my good fortune

I see some non-cubes there.. be careful.. They could be copes though.. Check for brusing on ALL of them

I think youve got a couple different kinds there buddy...Dont eat untill your 100% sure.

looks like youve got a mixed-collection of mushrooms..

i see some of the non-active Panaeolus antillarum in there for sure

and also (possibly) what looks like a couple P. cubensis in there too

it would help if you laid all the mushrooms out in order,
to make for a clearer picture
instead of just pileing them all up,
makes it harder to identify

Yep, there were some Panaeolus specimens in there. Sorry about the picture but I did separate the species later on and had a mild, though visual trip.

well, probably not the smartest of ideas
to be eating from you first collection ever

from your picture alone:
and im not picking on you, just being honest
i can tell you dont have your mushroom hunting
skills completely together yet

1 - your collection is all mixed up with different species
broken caps mixed with seperate stems

2 - your using aluminum foil to collect with,
something ive never really seen done before

and i mean youre not the first person in florida
and the gulf coast to eat unidentied mushrooms
from a cow field, but still this practice is not at all
the least bit recommended

you could easily poison yourself

you absolutely have to learn how to positively
and acurately identify the mushrooms before
eating them, and even still, once you can identify
them there is still (obviously) a bit of mystery
involved with actually eating psychoactive fungus

so there is a little bit to be first learned about them
before you find them, and just as much to be learned
before you eat them

psychoactive mushrooms are definately capable of
making one go, "crazy", or experience things that
are not completely expected...completely

yeah i live in central florida and i went last weekend and i found mostly some pan ants and a couple coplelandia cynanescens

It rained extremely hard last night and was very very warm today. so using my knowledge i got my happy ass out to a few fields i knew of in O town. i was discouraged at first when 2 fields did nothing for me, but to my suprise i found about 10 shrooms in a field right next to a major highway. anyway, it might not be full blown season just yet, but if you check out the right spots i guess you might find something now.

What types of shrooms grow in marco island, what do they grow on, what are there seasons, and maby some pics.

any help would be verry much appreciated

ive never been to marco island before,
but since it is an island i would assume there
are no cow fields there,
therefore nothing much to look for..

the cow fields here in sarasota are dry today
from what i saw
