Central Florida Mushrooms w/ Pics

My hippy friend "Giselda" talked her way onto a field somewhere on the east coast of Florida. She took a few photos. She found 30 grams of Cubies and her main prize, four printable copes. Three of the Copelandia caps were real tiny, but they printed fine. Blued like hell too!
They are still out there folks!

Since the farmer just mowed 95% of the field the day before, most of the Copes and Cubes were gone. Other fields in the area are doing very well. But, my friend doesn't want to trespass anytime soon.

I suppose that depends on your definition of doing well. It's just getting too cold and dry, other mushrooms are taking over the fields...at least the ones I've been in. You can still find a few cubes and plenty of copes though.

wouldn't give up just yet if I were you, I just came back from checking my fields this morning and cubes and copes are both showing, I was over in Live Oak yesterday and saw many cubes in various pastures and it is due to rain here in N Florida Tues/Wed and remain in the 70's to low 80's throught the week

Im hopin we'll some rain along with a good little heat front before December because then its pretty much useless. Last year about this time I yield a huge batch of shrooms...Im sure by he end of the month we'll have nother chance. Lepiotas accouted for 60% of the shrooms we saw on the last hunt.

Christmas and New Years tis always the season of some really beautiful Copelandia pickings here in southwest Florida. Winter Shroomin, no bugs, nice weather.
Summer Shroomin usually peaks on July 4th. Summers are real buggy and hot, and so are all the shrooms.
I take a nice small Christmas/New Years haul over a big buggy summers haul anyday.
Keep shroomin, GG

Yea maybe is South Florida by the Ocean. I used to live down there and it never gets below 60 degress but in CENTRAL florida things are totally differt. I was surprised from the jurrasic temp differential when I moved up here. Its sometimes gets in the 30's!! since we dont have that warm breeze from the ocean. A few nights last year I was scraping frost off my car from being so cold. I just checked the weather channel and it says it can get down to 50 in a few days which is too cold for Cope-Cube growth. But a nice warm front will give us a good condensing fog which will warm up the fields good eneouph for hunting.

Gisella is near the ocean and she found 5 more cubes today while driving around in the country (West of 95). She saw them at the edge of a field, hopped out of the car and grabbed them. They were growing on Horse manure.

Yea..like I said, in the heartland of central florida, we are gonna get unluckier as winter rolls in but fields along the coast will relatively produce year around.
