Yet concise, it'd be better to get pictures from the "feed the children" brouadcasts of the destitute Ethiopeans drinking dirty water, and eating * *. You know, the ones that aren't smiling as they have so many deficiencies caused by malnutrition.
Guess they were just born sinners though...
Chance, shit happening... it's a predicament of human existance, you can suggest anything you want eMotionALLmotion. I'd like to know what they've done to god to deserve it...
I doubt it's a testament to faith, as most are barely capable of reading, and more so comprehending such due to the high degree of illeteracy, and the lack of a decent formal education. Beyond that... they aren't supposed to die to see how faithful they are.
As Nietzsche said, "God is dead". Take whatever you want form that... or don't.

that's fucking harsh not just to people who believe in God, but to every cripple, athiest or a believer, i'm with what eMotionALLmotion said..
in all honesty, I think being a cripple could have it's benefits, lots of time to think and read, an excuse not to work, the guy in the picture could vary well be someone on this board, i'm sure i sound like optimistic trying to see this glass as half full, but damn, what do you expect me to do?
it's not like if you were to ask the cripple yourself "where's your God?" he would loose faith or see the world any differently, it would hurt him for sure, but seeing how the bible has them asking the same question to Jesus as they beat and robbed him and there being hundreds of psalms (psalm 22 being the one jesus quoted on the cross) about this very shit, the only puprose i see this thread doing is giving the non-christians a laugh at the expence of a christians pain, and the christians faith being reasurred by scripture, because that's where they go, right back to scripture and prayer..

My point wasn't to suggest that it would change their faith... my point is, what of those that are subject to ill conditions despite their lack of evil... that were born into misery, poverty, disease, etc... Please enlighten me as to why god does it, especially if they don't even have the comprehnsion of such notions due to being in fragile state of mind's due to a lack of education, and oh yeah... being in a general shitty state of health..

"where is your god now, cripple?"
that is rude, disrespectful and offensive. does a belief in religion imply the belief that the world is perfect? that good people are happy and healthy?
religion worldwide is screaming: THERE IS SUFFERING! you can't live without pain.
but don't you believe a person with health problems or physical impairment can be happier than someone with no physical problem whatsoever. well, that's one of the parts where religion comes in, for some people it can bring meaning into their lives. after all, life is something happening in your mind and every experience you have is greatly conditioned by your beliefs and interpretation of the world.
every depressed people I know, and I know quite a few, don't have any serious health problem. they just don't have religious or artistic aspirations, they feel tremendously empty and soak themselves in celebrity magazines, stupid tv programs, and just stress about every little thing going wrong in their lives, not realizing how little meaning this things have in the end.
did you see FOREST GUMP? you just have to turn adversity into a window of opportunity to come to terms with life and start living for real.
PS: I don't believe in god.

Sorry a_h_w you seem to not see what I was getting at.
Religion is a philosophy that attempts to explain how man functions, and why mankind is subject to so many ill scenarios.
I'm simply inquiring for a reason.. call it sacriligious or otherwise to whatever extent you see fit. But don't sidestep the issue.
If you take offense to it... it really isn't my problem.

Why do bad things happen to good people? (or in this case, just people in general)
hmm, this question is deserving of it's own thread, i'll start that now and be back later, i think i better meditate on this thought for awhile before i say anything..

. "Things" happen to everyone - "good or bad" people(which is perception).... It is the perspective of one's perception that make it "good or bad".... It's all a choice....

Bad is a judgment call. Some of the worst accidents or tragedies turn peoples lives around and give them a new start on life. A lot of things I called bad at the time were in retrospect live changing positive events.
The other thing that jumps into my noggin is that life is a polarity of light and dark. Being alive would mean you get some of both.

To me... it's not a mysterious, just a consequence of the circumstances we're born into (the demographics of a situation; country, income/education level of parents, how we're raised, et etal). I just have some qualms in respects to people suggesting that it'll get better if we choose to find god and/or allow Jesus into or hearts among various other common suggestions for instant repentance and betterment of an individual.
It doesn't work... the pope was a man of god... Guess who died recently? And his death was a long time comming, slowly, suffering, barely able to speak. I'm not attempting to poke fun at the situation, just to clarify that god isn't able to save everyone, nor everything despite whatever beliefs you may have to the contrary. God is an ideology, it isn't a fact. If it's a fact, then so are all those other various religions concerning our creation and our purpose able to differ so much in their opinion?
Look to some African belief systems, fascinating especially the ones developed around the world being born out of an all powerful being puking the world up.
http://www.dreamscape.com/morgana/miranda.htm Didn't find the one that I was referring to, still some cool ones here anyhow.

says so in the Bible.

Of course he doesn't. We the tall, the proud and beautiful will be standing at his side and bask in the glory of his mighty visage, for we are the most beautiful of all his creations.
Do you really think he would let a cripple become an angel? There is nothing angelic about a blind follower. GOD made me beautiful, successful and healthy and he will see to it that my sins will be forgiven.
On the third day of my ascent, the lord spoke to me..Blessed is he with the courage to live, the strength to succeed and the will to question. You shall step on the crippled bodies of the meek as you take your place beside me.
