URGENT! Need medical/legal advice

HELP! I've had a terible cold for four weeks. The doctors have tried various meds and they've only slightly helped. They sent me for xrays thinking it might be a bad pnumonia. Unfortunately, its NOT pnumonia, its a FUNGAL growth in my lungs and they want me to provide a phlem sample for them to diagnose the problem and provide better meds. I've often sniffed and inhaled air from cakes and from tanks. Also I've inhaled air from contaminated cakes and tanks. My questions are as follows: Could this fungal/mold growth be mycellium or any other way related to magic funguses? If this is caused by the magic fungus what are my legal concerns? I'm pretty sure results showing magic mycellium in my lungs would be suspicious. Can a doctor rat me out? Can a lab worker rat me out? Any advice would be appreciate as I'm quite sick and need to solve this medical problem, but don't want to get busted in the process. I need to provide a sample tommorow morning. Thanks everyone

I seriously doubt that psilly mycelia are growing in your lungs. The test that they do will probably not tell them that specifically what it is anyway. I would not worry about it as far as being ratted out. I'm betting it's a mold and not any mushroom species. I've never heard of mushrooms growing in people.
Swing the groove 'round here, so I can reach it -a.d.

Dr Skip, your fungal infection would most likely be Candida albicons,a common fungal infection. It is a natural fungi found in every human.Your cake's are not the culpret. It is easily treated with an antibiotic. No way for anyone to rat you out.Spit in a cup and go see the doctor. It can progress to a nasty pneumonia if not treated.

You probably just sniffed a cake or tank that was contaminated and got spores in your lungs. This happened to another shroomery member recently as well, though I can't recall who. I do remember that he came very close to dying though and that if he hadn't told doctors it could have been mold he may not have survived. I seriously doubt that any kind of mycelia would actually grow in your lungs, it is probably some kind of mold or other fungus. You can look up a bunch of them in the Mushroom Cultivator if you own it. Hope this helps.

Shit man, that samething happened to me, but i didn't want to go to jail so i didn't go to the doctor. It got to the point when i started coughing up mushooms on a daily basis. Right now i'm in the third flush so I think it'll stop after that, no biggie. Just kidding, go to the doctor, you need medicine, mushrooms don't grow on people.....not yet anyway
I think its dumb when people say video games effect kids negatively. I mean, if Pac-Man effected us, we'd all hang out in dark rooms, muching pills, and listening to repetitive music.

I have friend in the hospital right now with a fungal infection in her lungs. They finally started treating her with sporonox and she is starting to get better.Yes, you could have gotten something from a contaminated cake. What's growing in your lungs is nothing to play with. Fungal infections are rare but extremely dangerous. Your doctor doesn't need to know that you grow magic mushrooms. We can pick up nasties from working with contaminated drywalls. She got hers from her dog. There's all kinds other things you can tell him.He already seems to know what you have. So, he doesn't need any hints. He's solved the problem. You can be treated with sporonox or amphotericin B. Ampho is more likely to be given for severe fungal infections. It's also usually given in the hospital.I hope you start to get well soon. I know you must not feel well. Take Good care of yourself.

My friend has something called blastomycosis. Two of her dogs developed the disease years ago. One died, the other survived. She herselve almost died too. At that time, the doctors told her there was a small risk of a relapse.About 1.5 weeks ago she relapsed. She was sick as hell. She's still very ill, but she's getting better. Normally, this fungus is picked up from soil or from bird droppings. I have also heard of a man the got a fungal infection in his lungs from a cigar. I guess the cigar had tiny spot of fungus on it.So, he wiped it up and smoked it. Within 24hrs he became extremely ill. That would be the same as moldy pot.

Whatever you tell your doctor during an appointment MUST be held in confidence by the doctor and cannot be used as testimony in a trial because your relationship with your doctor is "Privliged". I have had bad experience with some nasty mushrooms and went and saw a doctor. They are usaully not too judgemental and will at worst laugh at you. this is not to say you shouldnt be cautious. Don't be telling every nurse in the place about this. Just talk to the doctor be honest - Its your health and you only get one body. Best of luck to your and be careful when working with contaminates.

Yeah, my friend told his/her doctor that he/she had been through alot of shit with heroin and coke addiction and smoking opiated hash and what not, so the doctor thought that since he/she was still alive and going to the doctor to make sure he/she was doing okay, that he/she would probably have "cleaned" his/her act up by now. This guy/woman has a serious drinking/smoking problem and its probably going to be the end of him/her. He/she told the doctor that he/she was still smoking pot. "You're still smoking pot?! What's the matter with you?" and so on. He/she hasn't gotten busted. haha
Time for a cigarette.

The good thing is your doctor has already figured out you have a fungal infection. So, he really doesn't need much more detail. The importance of the details is to get the doctor to take you seriously when you say you may have a fungal infection. So, you really do not need to spill your guts. The treatment options will not change. He or she will still treat with the same antifungal medications regarless of how you got it.

Ok seriously, that cannot in any way shape or form be used as evidence against you. Iam in the medical field and know this for a fact. First of all, that culture will not grow mushroom mycelium. Mushrooms mycelium cannot grow in your lungs. Our lungs do not provide the enviroment they need to survive. So, it is impossible for cubensis mycelium to be growing in your lungs. Throw that fear out of your mind right now.I think you know this. The specimen your going to give them tomorrow is to test for other fungus that may be causing your illness. Anything you tell your doctor is confidential, but don't go babbling because the doctors also tell the nurses . The nurses tell also tell their friend. So, yes it's suppose to be confidential but you don't want a bunch of people talking. It's illegal to talk about confidential stuff, but people do it .That is just the reality of things . But they cannot use the specimen you will give them against you in court. They can't prove anything with that specimen except what is causing you to be ill. You could of gotten your infection from anywhere or anyone. One more thing: Make sure your Doctor gives you medicine tomorrow to start treating this fungus. Don't waste anymore time. If nothing grows in the culture, you can always stop taking the medicine.Better save than sorry.

>>Whatever you tell your doctor during an appointment MUST be held in confidence by the doctor and cannot be used as testimony in a trial because your relationship with your doctor is "Privliged". You would like to think so, but in the US, Dr's can report pregnant mothers who use drugs and they can lose their babies. It can, does, and has happened. Usually only in the case of harder drugs like heroine or crack, but it does happen.

Doctors have a duty to report child abuse and communicable diseases (ie. tuberculosis). Technically that pregnant mother thing would fall under child abuse (although the child hasn't been born yet). Dr. S, even if it was possible to culture out mycelium from your lungs, I doubt it would be enough for a posession charge :) Don't worry. Follow your doctor's advice. You're spending a lot of time worrying about something he won't even think about.
