First attempt at making honey water-Did I do it right?

Just made my first attempt at making honey water last night , I received one of my syringes broken so I figured I would try and use what was left to make honey water.

Someone told me a spoon full of honey per liter so I added a tablespoon of honey to one liter of reverse osmosis water in a half gallon mason jar. I then placed the jar in boiling water for about an hour to sterilize it , I left it to cool overnight with the lid on and this morning I injected 5cc's of spore water into it and quickly coverd the jar.

Does my method sound correct? how long should it take before I know if colonization is successfull?

Solution sounds weak.

Stick to 4% solutions.
eg.

For Honey Liquid culture - 1tsp.(10g aaprox) Honey to 1 Cup(250ml) water
For Karo Liquid culture - 1tsp.(10g aaprox) Karo to 1 Cup(250ml) water
For Malt Liquid culture - 1tb.(10g) Dry Malt or Dextrose to 1 Cup(250ml) water
For Agar Solid Culture - 1 tb.(10g) Dry Malt + 1tb.(10g) Dry Agar Powder to 2 Cups(500ml)

inoculate with 1cc rehydrated spores.
You should see mycellial growth with 3-4 days.

I just did my first honey culture 6 days ago. I used a much higher ratio of honey to water than you did, but mine has a huge cloud of myc in it already!

If you see some gunk floating around in it the first day or two, and don't know what it is, just don't worry about it. Give it another day or two and you will see clear, obvious myc growth.

Thanks for the numbers. I was told in the cultivation chat to use one spoon honey per liter of water. Is my mixture too weak to spawn myc growth? I wasnt sure how much spore solution I should use so I just squirted in the whole 5cc.
