sterilizing straw in oven bags

i want to sterilize straw in oven bags in my PC, do i have to leave the bags a bit lose ,in order to let steam penetrate the bags, or isn't that necessary?

No, the bag does not have to be open for sterilizing.

What are you sterilizing straw for, just out of curiosity?

Ok, in that case you don't want to sterilize your straw. It needs to be pasteurized in the 160-180F range.

what if i used sterilized straw? I see that the guy who wrote the double tube tek, says sterilize, why?

sterilized will kill everything on the straw, pasturizing allows some beneficial bacteria to live and gives the mycelium a better chance

Eatyoualive pausterizes the poo in his tek(double tube), but sterilizes the straw...do you think the beneficial bacteria of the poo are enough?

I am planing to do the double tube tek with pans, Thanx

i normaly get a pot , put straw in it put on low heat setting thats it for 3hrs bang

Pack the straw into the bags as tight as you can...shreading in a blender helps. You can sterilize the straw or pasteurize it. The later works better, but Ive sterilized straw in bags and jars before and it worked out just fine with no contams..
