PMP has me baffled
    #3846320 -

First let me start off by saying I've used my PMP successfully for 5 or 6 grows now and it always works great for me.

I just harvested a real nice first flush off of a 2 qt rye casing, and while I had the casing dunking I unplugged the PMP. I put the casing back in last night, and hooked the PMP back in, but when I woke up this morning there was very little condensation on the sides and almost none on the lid. Normally when I have it plugged in for about 30 minutes there is quite a bit of codensation on the side, and at around an hour the whole plexiglass lid is completely covered in condensation. My air pump seems to be working fine, and the wands seem to be covered by plenty enough water to be doing their bubbling action so I have no idea what the hell is going on. I don't have a humidity guage, as I never saw the need for one since my PMP would have so much condensation.

Any way does anyone have any ideas for me, this has really got me baffled as literally nothing has changed since when I unplugged just 24 hours ago and plugged it back in. The ambient temp may be slightly different but not more than a couple degrees.

Its weird, I have had the same problem before...there probably is a temperature shift some were the PMP is located (externally), what I do is get 1 and a half cups of boiling water and toss it in my lava rocks and quickly shut the lid.....plenty of condensation after that.

You do not have to see water droplets all over to have good RH.

yea I know there doesn't have to be water droplets to have good RH but, I just thought it was real weird that 24 hours ago it was dripping wet and now theres only a few drops of condensation.

and no i'm not using perlite, i've got geolite in there

I do about the same thing and it works great, but I'd also double check the pod for leaks.

Did the temp inside or outside the PMP change? If the temps are the same both inside and outside the PMP you prolly won't have condensation. But could still have high rh.

I think this may be the culprit, the last couple days the ambient temp in the house has been around 68, and the pod has been @ 74 degrees... It seems to have warmed up a little today and the ambient temp is at 72 degrees, so that probably explains it.

Kramer uses perlite pmps and they work great....same perlite for 8 months now...just don't put too much water in them that is the only thing that will really bring the rh down...some times the cakes will really suck the water out fast... a misting once in a while never hurts. :peace:

If it is cooler in the pmp it won't have condensation. Like the cold glass of water thing. Wait till tonight or sometime when it is cooler outside the pmp and it will be back.

If it's been running for a while and you wanna test it hold a ice cube to the side of it on the outside, moisture will build up on the plastic on the inside on the other side of the cube.
