New Product Update

I'd like introduce a new product to the omc. It's PsiloPro Premium Substrate for dung-loving mushrooms. This is a specially formulated growing medium that dung-loving mushrooms thrive on. This premium substrate acts as both a food source and fruiting layer so no extra casing is needed. Don't pay for water, this mix is dehydrated so you save on shipping. All that is needed is to add water, sterilize and inoculate. Sterilization bags are included with every order. This special mix can also act as it's own humidity source in a closed fruiting container. So if your into growing your own gourmet dung-loving mushrooms, try out some PsiloPro premium substrate.
Check out pictures, pricing and details here http://www.psiliwear.com/psilopro.htm.

It can be pasturized, but sterilization is recommended for better results.

Actually, I think you'll want to pasteurize instead of sterilize. Better double check that. Otherwise, great looking subsrate!

Actually, this substrate has been extensively tested by the Lil' Shop of Spores printers for the last 3 years and sterilization leads to the best most consistant results, so that's what is recommended. Up to seven flushes totaling over 10oz. dried fruit has been achieved using 10lbs of PsiloPro.

If you study cultivation procedures, it is common knowledge that pastuerization is preferred over sterilization for bulk substrates.

Sorry, no bullshit. Just an excellent substrate that works better when sterilized rather than pasteurized.

how would you compare 10lbs of this to 6" deep in a 30gal tub i have heard of getting 1/4-1/2lb( dry weight i mean) per flush with straight straw 6" deep in a 30gallon tub

You can't really compare this to straw. As straw does not produce as many flushes due to less nutrients. Also, straw needs an extra casing layer to maximize it's potential. And how much straw is needed for that 6" in a 30 gallon tub. 10lbs of PsiloPro will fill a 15gal 16"X24" tub between 2 1/2" to 3" deep. The first 3 flushes generally produce around 8oz dry. If you used a 30 gal. tub filled 6" deep of PsiloPro the first flush would yield around 1/2 to 3/4lb. dry with the second flush around 1/4 to 1/2lb dry. It would take approx. 40lb. of PsiloPro to do that.
