Dextrose liquid culture

I searched but only Potatoe Dextrose Agar stuff came up.

I am gonna knock up some iquid culture tonight.

I have a new jar of light coloured honey. I also have Glucose powder (Ingredients : Dextrose 99.95%, Vitamin C 005%)

Will the Dextrose + Vit C be good to make a liquid culture? Or should I use honey?

I was thinking of 2 of each. Any reasons not to use the dextrose? Or shall I just 'suck it and see?'

You should be fine with the dextrose...

Stick to 4% solutions.
eg.

For Honey Liquid culture - 1tsp.(10g aaprox) Honey to 1 Cup(250ml) water
For Malt/Dextrose Liquid culture - 1tb.(10g) Dry Malt or Dextrose to 1 Cup(250ml) water
For Agar Solid Culture - 1 tb.(10g) Malt + 1tb.(10g) Agar to 2 Cups(500ml)

Corn syrup, and water.
4cc's - 96cc's.

Or for a larger jar of Karo.

8cc's Corn syrup - 192cc's water.

Here is a small jar of Cyan liquid culture I made.

So ya think the 0.05% vitamen C will be harmless? Have already made the honey water jar because I was unsure about the vitamen C.

It will be fine.

(and I am sure that 0.05% Vitamin C is printed on the bottle to show that the honey contains Vitamin C.....as products from many countries have to list protein fat and a couple of vitamin counts)

That really is a nice culture you have going there.
I hope that you get lots of cyans from it this next year.

I'll be laying some cyan spawn out this march or april depending on the weather.
I'm going to have quite the alderwood/mushroom patch around my house...lol
Tired of fighting for cyans in the local park...they really tore up the beds this year.

LOL........experiment. Was thirsty...looking in fridge, noticed cold beer, next to it apple juice. Spores in blood took over instantly & forced me to pour a beer & equal amount apple juice in a pot, let boil to evap alc, poured in filter lid jar & am PC'ing as we speak.

Thats a culture I made a long time ago...(the end of last summer)

It was more of a test jar, to see if my cyan syringe(ordered back when I first started growing, was still clean, as it went through some "abuse")

But that doesnt mean I wont have Cyans :wink: , because I still have the syringe, and I also have 100's of local (dirty wild) prints. :yesnod: :thumbup:

So I will never run out.

A friend of mine already has 1 quart done(which is really interesting because if you see my contam thread, my only one, he didnt follow proper tek at all, and yet he has a jar full of healthy mycelium.........and this guy fucked up and outdoor cube grow ?? , anyway, he has motivated me to start some jars.

Another interting thing that happened was that I took some of the mycelium on woodchips from the patch this year, wrapped it up tight in a clean plastic bag, and placed it in my fridge....and the mycelium is healthy, and alive , months later :grin: 

Its so little so I dont know what to do other then maybe try spawning it to straw and then spawning that to woodchips. :tongue: Its in the chesse/butter section of the fridge so its in the dark. :wink:

Anyway, here are some of my finds this year.....in case you missed them :tongue:
