There were plenty of slaves that were white, my friend, and I'd even go out on a limb and contend that there have been more white slaves throughout history than black ones. Slavery was widespread and not limited to one point in history or to one race. It wasn't much different to have a human slave than it was to enslave a horse.

I belive there is a genetic programing in us all that puts canibalism under a taboo, and its purpuse was to prevent animals from eating each other, a kind of a natural cooperation in a single species.

But i guess it is not evil to eat mans flesh.
It would be bad to kill a man for food of course. Killing would be bad because we are ending one mans journey given by the universe.
We are altering his life path by force in the most radical way possible. Or in case there is nothing after death, we are ending someones consciousness, whish is the worst thing possible because
consciousness is the core of everything that we know. It is our god.
Out of consciousness there is nothing, a black void.

Ok so what about people that have commited crimes and are going to be executed. I mean why waste perfectly good meat when there are children starving in the world. We should eat convicts and send poor people turkeys.

Yeah, sometimes I pitch the idea that all the starving people in the world could eat the stray dogs and cats of the world. Millions of euthanized animals yearly, buried in landfills, could add up to one hell of a goulash (sp?). Add in the death row inmates and even a few mental patients for flavor, and I imagine a virtual melting pot...

This is why you can't. Mad cow disease came from farmers feeding ground up cow to cattle. There is a disease you can get, from the proteins in humans. I forget what its called, studys have been done and well you get very sick. You basically turn schizo.

Yes....what was that tribe in Africa (one of many I could suppose) that ate the brains of the dead and they went stark raving mad? I saw them in National Geographic I think.

The disease is Kuru, a Prion encephalopathy like Mad Cow. Prions are proteins that apparently can self-replicate; how they do this is unknown since they do not contain DNA. The tribe was called the Fore (FOH-reh).

The reason Kuru decimated the Fore was because they practiced ritual cannibalism by eating their loved ones when they died, including the brain. They did this for a very long time without any problem until, it's believed, one of the members of the tribe developed CJD, the human form of Mad Cow. When that member died and was eaten, the disease spread through the tribe.

Kuru, like all the prion diseases, can only be caught from another animal if it has the disease. Eating healthy animals (like healthy cows or humans) will not transmit the disease because the eaten animal does not have the disease.  :syringe:
