Is it wrong?
    #2568331 - 04/16/04 05:16 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

Is it wrong to kill and eat sentient extra-terrestrial life forms?

--------------------
To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

Is it wrong to kill and eat domestic life forms? And is there an absolute line drawn to determine what is sentient and what isn't?

Not if they're properly prepared.

Anything of the intellectual level of George W. Bush or lower is definately NOT sentient.

"Is it wrong to kill and eat sentient extra-terrestrial life forms?"

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.---senior doobie

Depends on whether they believe in God. If they don't believe in God, it doesn't matter.

I'm just teasing, kaiowas.

I don't think we should eat extraterrestrials.  Sentient or not, it would be like eating an earth-being.  Blech.

I've heard it said in certain secret circles, that a saute of the brains of greys with some amanita and olive oil is delicious and imparts to the diner the knowledge stored in the brain of the grey. Rumor has it that Nikola Tesla, Edward Leedskalnin and the architects of the Ancient Pyramids obtained their engineering and scientific insights in this manner.

"if they come here, then we can eat them"

that sums up the last 10,000 years of human warfare and turmoil.

Is it wrong for sentient beings to eat us?

Either way, I'd think sentient beings would be rubbery, like eating a dolphin skin. Not good at all, probably better scuba-diving clothes than food.

There are certain "foods" I avoid eating:

1. Squid
2. Octopus
3. Veal
4. Frogs
5. Snails
6. Brains of greys

Oh, and I never eat road-kill.
